I was wondering if anyone who has ridden the Spyder has ridden both available transmissions and if so how does both versions compare ?

Only the manual shifts are coming out this year. you will have to wait til next year for the autos.

! CONFIRMED ! I talked to the dealer in woodbridge , va about my order to make sure that the electronic transmission was on my list of options and he said that March 2008 was the wait for it. so , manuals this fall and elec. next spring in time for next season

Why go with the auto? It costs more to order and apparently the manual shifts very well. I have not ridden either so I have nothing to base an opinion on yet. Mine is ordered with the SM5 tranny.
