Just got off the line with BRP. Same ol same ol, but with a twist.
I am told that the dealers can call a dealer support line directly. This brings them directly into BRP, not a distributor, or regional contact but BRP. The dealer can then ask where is the spyder, when will it arrive, shipment schedules for thier dealer.
I was told that they are in the process of shipping spyders currently blah blah blah. I asked about the rumor regarding the NTSB and quality before shipping. He said that it is the first he has heard of it. He did say the NTSB has reviewed the prototypes, and over see certian quality areas where these are road vehicles. But has nothing on weather or not this is holding up shipments.
I may suggest all owners waiting,,, to call the dealers,, and ask them to call the dealer support line at brp and ask for an update on their dealer delivery. BRP has told me a list is aval to all dealers and is shared with the dealers. The BRP rep told me there is no reason a dealer does not have this inforamtion. BRP rep told me it is avail to all dealers that are selling the spyder.

Time to dial people,, please post your responses from your dealer here. If you get the line, we know nothing, ask outright, did you call the brp dealer support line?

I have not had to wait as long as some of you out there who had their deposits in February or before on their Spyders.
And I'm not really quick to criticize or whine like a baby because of my wait.
And I know we are getting down to the wire some of us are getting anxious like me.
At least I do have a bike to ride so the pressure might not be as great as some who are waiting who don't.

I have ordered many vehicles over the years and never anything like this somewhat confusion.
Mostly from the dealer to BRP I think they're more in the dark then we are at least some of them.
I do commend BRP for coming on the chat line and for Marc's trying to help us get the facts.

My dealer which I have talked to today still says that they have not posted it on his Boss website
that he supposed to be looking at to get delivery times. And until they do he knows no more than
I do. He has also been inundated with calls from concerned Spyder customers who have them
on order.

My take on all this is probably just at the most a few weeks of delay, I hope I'm wrong. I'm sure
that they will start showing up in Florida first and maybe on the way there already.

I honestly do believe for BRP is doing everything they can to get them out and I would rather wait
a little longer to make sure that they are put together correctly, safe and roadworthy. Nobody
would want to start out with a lemon, especially on a unique new model like this.

But you have to admit the communication problem here could be a whole lot better.

Ok, Charles,
Took your advice and rang up my dealer, received a Sales Rep, and here's what I got.
Sales Rep, was not aware of a "BRP, dealer support line." He would, "Look into it." not sounding too hopeful there.
It's his understanding that his allotment of Spyder's, 12 in all would be released for shipment on the 10th and he would receive them on the 25th. When I spoke with him perhaps a week ago. The story THEN was that they would only receive (4) on the 25th. Now he SEEMS to think it will be all 12. No facts or figures to support any of what he has said. Still working on, "Rumor Control." I'm still left shrugging my shoulders for an answer.
Well, my NEW sales Rep, just called me back. My original salesman quit. Anyway, I'm #7 maybe. He can't seem to figure out the order of ANY of the pre-orders for the Spyder's, go figure "And the hits just keep a comin." He also has no answer as to why they don't know the exact # of units they will receive on the 25th. He's looking into that too. Stay tuned, I'm here all week.

Wow Nexus, lets get a few things straight here, First, your right, you have NOT waited as long as others, so we have a right to whine, you dont. Second, I mentioned nothing about marc comming onto the chat,

Now, let me tell you where I am comming from because your lost.
First off, I am in the north, where it snows, ice, sleet, temps around 10 degrees F during the winter months. This can be from the end of November through april, just a couple of years ago we had 24 inches of snow fall from a single storm. Our season is short, April(maybe), may - November if you can take some cold weather. So do we want them?? YES! we do, do we want them safe, dependable, of course. do we want them rushed,, no. do we deserve some type of communications,, YES!! and that is the sticky bothersum point to most. the absolute lack of communications. Is BRP doing everything they can to get them out, I have No doubt at all,, they are!!! Are the dealers getting heat, and keeping buyers up to date,, I believe most are yes, it is good customer relations to do so. Is BRP keeping dealers up to date,,,,,,,
Well there is the question,,,, BRP customer service says yes, but the dealers say no. One or two dealers keeping people in the dark is one thing and shame on them, but in this case, just about all if not all dealers are in the dark which means BRP is not keeping them informed.
I purchased a PT cruiser in 2001, a limited first run model. I ordered it. My dealer gave me an order number. told me it would be approx 10-12 weeks. I heard that at 5 weeks, they were starting to be produced. after all this was custom ordered and I recieved a paper saying this was custom built for........

I could call my dealer who knew nothing,, call chrysler, and they told me when my pt was to be built, what week it would hit the assembly line. Then told me when it was finished and on what date it would be shipped from Mexico. They then gave me a tracking number, which was a railcar number. I could track that rail car from Mexico to MA. when it was put on the truck for delivery, and the day it was delivered. All on line!!!! BRP cant seem to get a simple database up and running. If BRP knows when the dealers are comming out, then there should be no reason why they cant punch in a number for the dealer, and tell us what the expected ship date is!!!! At least we would know something,,,,,, A lot of people have to get financing, I am in the mist of selling my old bike, and trying to time it so I am not without a bike for to long. I know this is long, but again,, it is NOT the waiting for it, I have been waiting since march. My life is to busy to worry over today or tomorrow delivery. But, in this day of communication and techonology, we the end customer with deposts down, should at least be able to get a ship date.

One last thing,,, for us in the north,,, in snow country,, delivery after the snow starts to fly becomes a nightmare, between truck or enclosed trailer rentals, dealer storage fees possible, Once getting it home, putting it into storage. There are many complications up north that the south does not have to worry.

With all that said,, can I whine,,, yup
After all,, I do customer service for a living,,, and I listen to it ALL day long..

Picked up my soap box,,, and walking away..........

I agree with Nexus.... so many people are angry about this and whining like little kids. For godssake... it's not like you are waiting for a new kidney to save your life.

Have people really become this inpatient and childish?

If you guys are really that pissed off.... go to your dealer and demand a refund... they will probably give you a complete refund just to stop the annoying calls and letters. Someone out here already said they were offered a refund.
