Just thought I would help get this regional forum going with a post as an introduction. I have been riding motorcycles and snowmobiles for 45 years and am looking forward to my Spider some time in March 2008. I ordered it in July and I think I was number 6 on my dealers list. I live in Maple Grove Minnesota which is about 12 miles north west of Minneapolis. I'm 60 and retired, and would like to get together with others for rides next summer. My wife loves to ride and most of my riding is done with her  . Ok guys and gals lets hear from the rest of you from this area

I was starting to wonder if there was anyone around the tri-state. I am down in Rochester, MN. I really have not found anything I considered to be fun on the road until the SPyder. I have extensively ATVed and snowmobile. I was hours away from buying Bergman when the Spyder spun it's web. I am suppose to be getting it soon. Wife and I are in mid 40's and I am working on getting her into riding and thought the Spyder would be a big step in the right direction.

I'm 45 and my wife actually encouraged me to get a spyder after my last motorcycle mishap. I used to live in laguna hills california, and now living in the quad cities davenport. Im now #3 on the second shipment to my california dealership in irvine california, and when I get the call I'll be flying out there to ride it back. However as of today its 15 deg outside with lots of ice and snow on the interstates, I'm interested to find out how they ride in icy mush.

probably like a scoop shovel. I got one so i could have a longer riding season. I was riding up until that stuff last weekend. The dealer up here in Rochester has a silver coming in march that someone backed out of. he has 6 going to Iowa from the first 2500. Might be down your way next September on the way to Gatlinburg. Maybe sooner on a day trip. it is beautiful riding along the river.

So why did you decide on CA and not MN or WI for the purchase? Hopefully you are not at Bert's Mega Mall. Bad deals there in Southern CA. Getting charged $1000's more.

I moved from so california and had already placed my deposit at missin motorsports in irvine california. I hope to ride it from so calif in a couple of weeks. The sales guy said it should be in the next couple of weeks, if so I will ride it to iowa. Hopefully it won't have the problems that other guys are having with there spyders, because there are no dealers in iowa and would have to go to minnesota for service, a very long ride for service.

If you do not have insurance yet, Foremost was good deal for my situation and they have free roadside assistance. I think i paid like 480 a year

We have #731, and have added Power Bus, bar raiser, Autocom, fogs, HeatTroller (so far). She runs quite nicely at 70+, and is also quite nice on local shopping trips! WooHoo!

Will have to try and get together for a ride sometime. I still have not seen another Spyder in my 900 miles. I am putting the warrior exhaust on and trying to find the best backrest option. Did you get something done with the brakes?

Just the recall item. When Mike came to pick her up, the brakes finally did not work at all, with a warning message that would not clear. All good now. We need a backrest for me. May go to Russell, as he did great custom work for our old R-bike, even building in a passenger one. We are in line for Ken's rack and a Givi.

We saw a silver just west of St Bonifacious on our way to Cosmos a week ago.

A ride sounds good. Now if the weather would cooperate.

Bitten 509, We are interested in replacing the muffler an our yellow. We have 2 yellows and would like to change mufflers. Have you heard the Hindle? We would like your opinion on the sound of the Warrior you put on and where you purchased it.
My husband made a trip to St. Bonifacious April 23 for the brake recall. They replaced clamp on oil line and the brake caps too.
We have seen a silver 3 times but don't know where it is from. We have seen it by the Prairie Edge casino by Granite Falls and also by Willmar and Montevideo. Have never been able to take the time to follow and find out where they are from. We have seen no others in our area though.

We were all new to the site not all that long ago. I had never even been on a forum until this one and the Spyder. It's great; everyone is in the same boat as the Spyder is new to all. Some really good info on here. There are several options for the Warrior. E-bay is a great place to get the exhaust. You can have a shop make a mid pipe to attach to the Spyder, check with Ken Zeller owner of evoluzione, banner on this site. Ken may say it is not a slip on for the warrio, but I think it can be welded on. You can cut the mid pipe, 90 off your stock pipe and weld that to the warrior. I just PMd a couple people on the forum who have changed out exhaust and one them graciously sold me the 90 from the stock exhaust.
The sound is a bit louder, deeper and much less nasally as the stock can. It runs cooler and has more HP as well. I got it for long trips so it is not as loud as the other people are putting on. It really resonates. I am sure you checked the YouTube I posted. I like because it gets rid of that catalytic converter and looks better. I am getting a Leo Vince from Ken for around the area but will us the warrior on long trips or riding with others as to not annoy myself and everyone.
