How many from Michigan?

I won't even have my Spyder until March it sounds like but I'll bet there is a large Michgan contingent. I am from just outside of Flint. Anyone else a Michigander here and plan on touring our beautiful state on their new Spyder. Both my husband and I order one, his in yellow, mine in Silver. I hope to hear from other owners and maybe have some tours or rides, when the time comes.

I ordered mine from Leaders in Kalamazoo. They first thought that I would get it in March... but then before I left that day they said the inventory showed that I would get my Silver one in January.

When did you order yours? Did someone cancel an order? Just curious as to how it got moved up a few months. Either way I'll bet even if it is cold out there, you will be riding it at least a little bit.

Last January it was nice enough to ride...... doubt this year will be.

Farmer Almanic says we're going to get blasted this winter......
Danimal where do you live? I go to leaders all the time!
I m from Mitch-again. Up north in the Upper Peninsula. Small town called Munising on the south shore of Lake Superior, I m currently in Seattle working construction.

I'm in Battle Creek... you know.... BC.... the Big City.....

That was the first time I went to leaders.... was very impressed.

Did you order from them also?

I was there in like june/july for the demo event... whenever it was... can't remember now. I ordered mine that day. I think they sold 3 that day.....

It is a very small world. I was born in Battle Creek. We lived there for a short time. In second grade I went to Prairieview. My mother graduated from Lakeview back in 1960. I still have family there but rarely see them. Some of my fondest memories are of Sullivan's Ice Cream Parlor on Capital Ave., which is not longer there. As a kid I toured that Kelloggs plant so many times I could have given the tour. Wow, what memories. Maybe when I have my Spyder, I'll have to tool on down that way.
Yes, small world indeed. I happen to live in the Lakeview District.
I'm out in the Harper Creek area - but went to Lakeview - class of 84.

I saw a Spyder a few weeks ago at the Meijer on Beckley!!!
Couldn't catch up with them as I was late for a meeting already.

I'm fine with mine not being here yet - can't do much with it for a few months anyway....

Where did you order yours from?
I havent seen one around town yet. I didnt order a spider if you were asking me. I am friends with a rep and he did bring a couple demos to try out a couple months ago.

Welcome to the board. My husband and I are supposed to get ours in March sometime. I am going to try and plan a summer ride for Michigan and Great Lakes Spyder owners. Check here for updates as we get into the summer months. Glad to have you hear. By the way, we aren't that far away, I'm just south east of Flint.

Yeah what about that summer ride? I am still interested riding up from Minnesota. Been on sleds up there for sure. Do the three lake tour and invite some Canadain owners

Hey Bitten,
I think it would be great to have a tour and invite the Great Lakes Area riders. Many people from Ontario can get over here easily enough through Port Huron or Detroit and then we head north on the I-75 corridor. Folks from Ohio, and Indiana could join up that way too. We could head to towards the UP stay the night in Mackinac City, (which I love) then head for the Lake Superior Shoreline drive, what a beautiful drive that is. Not sure which way you would be coming in to meet from Minnesota but for us heading back we could take the southern route of the UP along Lake Michigan for the way home. You'd probably be coming over through Ironwood. You could bring a group over from your direction toward Mackinac and if you came over via the southern route, when we headed out for the Lake Superior drive that would be your trek home. This is all speculative right now of course. We have to take time into consideration as well, everyone doesn't have a week off to wonder around the lovely upper peninsula, possibly including us. But if we picked a long weekend and planned a midway point such as Mackinaw City or St. Ignace, we could spend some time there and maybe head up to the Soo Locks for a day. When we are done, you any anyone that came from your area could head back west and any southerns and myself could head south. I'm just throwing thoughts out there tight now, but as we get closer to trying to close in on the real thing, I will get with you. I will also post this in the Canadian, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin forums when we get more set on an idea and some dates. Do you have anything in mind? I'll talk to you soon.

OK here is were I got roped into the UP trip planning.
I forget to come check in here and I apologize. What dates do you have in mind? I was thinking July right off the bat. Couple weeks after the 4th. Day up 2 days riding around and a day back. I do not know the area all that well but we would want a place to gather as you stated. We could see if Marc can get a poll about it ans see who and when for starters.

We're from Battle Creek, too. Wife's Spyder, from Leaders Marine, is supposed to arrive this month. We'll see. She snagged a cancelled deposit. Until she gets her endorsement, I guess I will be forced to ride it.
Of course if the ice in the driveway never melts, that, the BMW, and the vintage bikes and hotrods will all have to stay put in the garage. Anyway, we'll all have to hook up if Spring ever gets here.
