BillyBob, Sign me up. I think it is a fantastic idea and I would be willing to help in any way. However, ........... I strongly urge you to reconsider having it in Gatlinburg. That place is impossible from spring to late fall! Traffic is at a standstill, prices are inflated and it is basically a tourist mecca.

I would suggest Robbinsville, NC (aprox. 40 miles s.e.). It is a motorcycle friendly town and has several motels that cater to motorcycles. Robbinsville is host to several brand specific rallies. There is only one major chain in town and they encourage and invite motorcycles - Microtel Motel). Robbinsville is located centrally to the best riding in the area including all of the locations you mentioned plus, other little known roads such as Wayah Rd, Hwy 28, etc. Also, North Georgia is just a little ways down the road.

Marc ... If this idea takes off and, I think it will, perhaps you can set it up as a "sticky"?

In the past they have arranged for overflow parking across the street in the strip-mall parking area which is never over 1/2 full. Of course (no pun intended), I've never attended a function where trailers are an issue! (but, again, I only have 120 miles to ride!!!)

Well 2500 Spyders in one place would be awesome, but reality is you need a central location for everyone or a western and eastern "SYPDERSTOCK".

There are many owners that will not go from the west coast to the east coast due to financial or available vac time, if it takes 2-3 days to get there and the same back plus a 3-4 day event then west coast owners need to have 10 days or 2 week vac time available.

I do make long rides such as San Diego to Gillette WY and back in a week (one way is 1,278 miles) and that's some hard riding (fig. 22-23 hrs one way).

I for one won't be there not for money reasons, time issues - However I would love to be there to hear all the webs that owners will weave, so your location will be good for 2,499 spyder owners'

It sure sounds like a great time!! My husband (bjt) said to pencil us in so I am thinking we are going to definitely do our best to make it. Coming from Michigan, it will be a great ride. We have had some really great September weather these last few years too so that should make it even more enjoyable. Please keep us posted.

42 miles south of Lebanon, Kansas. Is the geographical center of the US. BORING, Gatlinburg sounds great and I think works for a majority of first owners, the 2500? The Spyder was released in AZ, CA, CO, FL, MA, MI, MN, NJ, NY, VA, WI I would think they would open TX, and more middle America States up next. I have never been to Gatlinburg but hear it is beautiful. The folks from upper and lower east coast would have scenic drive down, several folks in the north said they would come, myself included. Contact the public relations staff at BRP and run it by them. I know there are a lot of TN and KY owners even though they don't currently sell there.

Who cares where the geographical center is!

The US has many beautiful states and wonders to see along with an unlimited amount of roads to ride that will satisfy everyone. If you want a successful event that will get close to all spyder riders then you have to make it as appealing to the masses as possible.

A single event normally will target a group in a regional location. We are targeting as large a single special group as any sponsored event has. We are asking everyone to go east just one time, while that seems ok by the majority of the east coast sypder owners.

How many west coast riders have responded and said "yes I'll be there" - you got your answer for far less than the 2500 that you hope to get.

You will be successful for only eastern and some mid western riders and that will be only a partial gathering of spyder owner, beside you could put it in someone's backyard and they still won't go that's just the way it is.

Then we could have "SpydieGate". I have a question for you!

I don't know the answer to this but answer this, based on a map of the US plot all authorized dealers and let's see where the biggest majority show up - west - middle - east.

Then where the largest locations of dealers are you should have sponsor built in that should get behind a massive event like this as the publicity for them would be huge.

The biggest key to success for events like this is a driving force. Seems like billybob has the energy to help organize a TN event. No reason we can't have a similar event in a western location as well. Anyone have the energy to organize? We certainly have the forum (pun intended
) here to discuss and promote the event.

Where there's a will there's a way! Sturgis is in the middle...middle of nowwhere and every year tens of thousands of people make the trek. Daytona is about as far Southeast as you can get and yet tens of thousands of people make that trek as well.

Count me in if nothing comes up in the next 11 months. I know I'm only 650 miles away but I will also try my darndest to get to the PCH next year.

Question: What do you think about non-Spyder owner's coming along as quests? My son has a GSXR-1000 and we have been discussing riding the Dragon's tail someday. This would be perfect.
