They have had a couple different licence plate brackets. One with a light and one without.

Great stuff, they did address changing the taillight/brake light in the Q & A if cluster means all lights or gauge cluster?
Q. What are the changes from prototype to production?

A. Upgrades from prototypes to production include: Brake pedal lowered 10mm. Brake pedal and parking brake pedal now covered with a hard rubber surface. Sunshade over gauge cluster. Improved handlebar grips (wider with better isolation from vibration). Excessive heat from right foot area now resolved. Improved finish on exhaust. Improved seat skin with better form fitting material. Brighter turn signal indicators in cluster. General improvements in fit, finish, gaps and esthetics.

and one of the things people were commenting on heavily in TrySpyder was the rear lights.
"Brighter turn signal indicators in cluster" no doubt means that they would be more visable in the dash instrument cluster. One of the complaints was that the dash blinkers were very hard to see in the daylight. During the demo ride the dealer rep I was following had a turn signal "on" for a couple of miles without knowing it.....reminds me of about 80% of the snow birds here in Florida.

I was reading at the sunshade over guage cluster ment gauge cluster and that would take care of the turn signal lindicator issue, but i am not French Canadina either..

I thought that they were supposed to be auto-cancelling turn signals...?

They are auto cancelling. You still turn them off when changing lanes.

The update to a brigher indicator on the gauge is good. I have ridden the Spyder lots and agree that is something that needed improvement. The "blinker" on the gauge doesnt show up very bright and it is possible to drive along signalling for an embarassing amount of time. The sun shade is also a good idea and should make it much easier to read the digital display on bright days.
I like the little white turnsignals better... Shaped more like a tear drop. Let's hope those stick in production!

Anyone want to bet that the little white signals will be aftermarket options to replace the large ugly orange ones that come with the bike !

Screw how UGLY they might be...just gimme the bike already!!!
These (wider/bigger) turn signals are European spec to meet European regulations. North American buyers will get the smaller (better looking IMO) version.

Personally, I would WANT the larger turn signals, and maybe brighter brake lights as well. One of the first things I did with my VTX was to add a Back-Off brakelight modulator, and brighter LED brake lights. I also added extra front running lights, and a Stebel air horn. Believe me, cagers DO NOT see you when you are on a bike, and especially when THEY are on a cellphone! I will first do whatever is necessary to make my Spyder more visible. (I ordered the foglight option especially for this reason.)

WOW, that fog light kit, i thought was way over priced, I am waiting to see if after markets come out. Let me know what you find out on the brake lights, if and what works on the Spyder. Are you an October delivery?

Yeah, that is expensive, but at this point there isn't anything else out there. If something comes out as aftermarket that will fit, I will cancel this option. I only notified the dealer on this so he would have it available when my Spyder comes in. (I believe it is a dealer installed option, anyways.) Since I just placed my order Sept 1, I will have to wait until perhaps May 08 before I get mine! Regarding the brake lights, the Back-Off module will fit any motorcyle, as long as you can get to the wiring easily. Every time you step on the brakes, the lights flash three times rapidly and then stay on.
I picked up a set of (Hyper Lights) for about $20.00. They are an addition to the rear break light and will flash whenever the brake is activated. It's 2 sets of LED's, 8 per set, small but very noticable when activated and easy to install.
May not be the most attractive add-on but Safety First!
