I'm just curious what kind of shifters do we use for shifting on the automatic? Paddle shifters like on cars? I'm not sure what thumb shifters are? Thanks!

thumb shifter on left handlebar im guessing
Probably the thumb shifter on left handlebar that had been mentioned AND a regular foot shifter. Only difference is there won't be a clutch lever. The choice on which method you want to use to shift will be up to the operator. At least this is how it works on the Yamaha FJR1300AE motorcycle.

i would "guess" that the SE5 transmission models with the electronic transmission won't have a foot shifter present on the machine. I had a Traxter (from BRP) that had electronic thumbshift, and there was no footshifter on the machine...

If you go with the thumb-shift you will NOT have the foot shifter. I was also told not to expect the thumb shift until fall of 2008.

Other machines they tried out a thumb shift on didn't work so well....I'd stick with the foot shift.
