Hi there, I was going down hill at the posted speed limit and down shifted and all of a sudden at the stop light below I started out and only had a first gear. It would not shift out of first gear nor go into reverse. Yes the spyder that I love was stuck in first gear. Anyone who what happens in that situation and why it would happen to a new spyder. It is in the shop now but I sure would like to know what for myself that answer. This is my first day on here and am not sure if I am even going to get a reply. Thank you in advance for one concerning this .

Have a wonderful spyder day.

Seems like you may have an issue common to (but not all) the SE5. There is a bulletin on what needs to be done to fix it. We had ours done even though we had not had any problems with it. Have never had any serious issues with the transmission. Now have 7800 miles and loving every mile.

My 2009 SE5 has refused to shift out of neutral on start up twice now. The first time, I pulled the fuse for the starter. That worked. This morning, I tried the same thing with no success. Am I having the same transmission issue?

My 2009 sm5 tranny went out after 4500 miles. Just bought it new this year and had to fight with can-am to fix it. It is still in shop and it happened in October. Kept going into N and could not get to 5th gear. I thought the Manuel tranny would not have this problem. I call it my 17,000 dollar mistake
