When I went in for the 6k service I asked the service manager to have them look at my squealing brakes, he said no problem they fix them under warranty. The service and repair was done on 11/22.

I'll call up my dealer in the morning. my dealer did say that it wasn't under warrenty. The last thing I want to do is pay $150 when I might not have to. Thanks for letting me know.

Has anyone else had theirs fixed using this bulletin?

I just heard from my dealer that at the time this bulletin was released, the replacement brake pads weren't yet released.

The more troubling part is that apparently this bulletin wasn't a warranty bulletin, and the pads are available as a spare part? Are you kidding me BRP, this is a joke. I thought they had publicly acknowledged on their website that they were aware of the problem and were working on a fix. Now they intend on making me pay to fix their problem???

Any comments?

BRP is not very sophisticated. They don't even have a decent computer system to handle invoicing and servicing correctly. Take a car in a dealership, key in the VIN and service required and everything pops up, including any recalls of any description. Same for my Yamaha. Nothing that comes close in a BRP dealership. When I took my Spyder in last week for a service, I just assumed (incorrectly as it turned out) that the brakes would be fixed given the service bulletin. Nothing. In fact I had little to no squeaks going to the dealer and an absolute nightmare by the time I got home. All 3 wheels making one hell of a noise. Front wheels were removed to balance them and the rear parking brake adjusted making all three wheels scream like nothing you've ever heard. Have since written to BRP Australia and waiting for their company position on this matter.

My rear brake squeels about 50% of the time. I will be interested to see what comes of your inquiry with BRP.

Mine was just recently (Jan 20th) fixed under this service bulletin. The brakes are much better now! They still squeal, but a lot less!

I took this bulleting to the dealer in Lafollette, TN and he said this was not an order to fix squeeking brakes. Just new brake pads. I know he is full of it, but haven't pushed it yet.

Yes, it was for better pads to replace the original ones... apparently.

Still no official bulletin in Sweden according to my dealer. Will phone them again later this week. But maybe not surprising since I got my welcome for buying a Spyder last week....9 months after I actually bought it

Broward Motorsports in Davie, FL told me the new brake pads would cost around $140 installed. I read on here that people were getting them covered under warrenty. I asked Broward to call up the warrenty department. After they spoke with them they told me it's covered under warrenty.

I asked the service manager why it's not under warrenty unless you call it in, and he said "you know how it goes..."

At least it cured my brake squeel!!! Everyone should get the new pads!

Brake squeak on my 2010 RS-S is funny.
I started to get a slight one on the right when until it warmed up.

Then at ~2100 L and R were squeaking a lot.

At ~2300 both L and R were quiet again, most of the time, but rear started when it was cold.

Got caught in a driving rain and the next day everyone is quiet again?

I am starting to think the sporadic squeak might be related to brake dust buildup that is affected when I clean and wax it myself and of course when ma nature washes it for me. :P
