I believe that this is the kit that Wheelz has on his bike. Then he straps down his wheel chair on the back.

Wheelz would be the best person to answer this.

Wheelz you out there?

I believe that electric shift kit is only to select gear in place....the clutch still has to be used. So basically for someone who has a problem with their left foot. And also used for racing.

I'm using this electronic shift. I love it. Pingle made a spyder specific mounting bracket but the actuator itself is "off the shelf". It shifts very precise and quick. It will NOT 'auto' shift for you. There is a idiot proof 2-button switch mounted to your left grip. You still have to use the clutch for normal 'around town' shifting but if you want to "hammer" the throttle, no need in using the clutch (if you know how to do clutchless shifts). The only down side is its hard to find neutral. But for you "walkers" that's not a problem for you! I'm using it cause I'm a disabled rider (hurt from a motorcycle accident and never learned to stay off of them :riding: )

The reason I went with a SM5 rather than the SE5 is because I STILL WANT CONTROL in picking gears and or "slipping" the clutch when the situation arises and not a computer to tell me YOU should be in this gear AT this speed, etc..etc...And partly because I didn't want to wait for the SE5's

Mine came with a Klictronic (sp?) shifter, but the only difference I see is that the actuator is hidden inside the tupperware. Unless you see the red and green buttons below the left handgrip, you would never know its there. I use it from time to time because I get lazy, but its not always comfortable to pull the clutch and shift with your thumb.
