I like my bags, but that being said, one of them wont stay latched, have tried every adjustment possible. and a nut that sticks out from the brake system has scraped the side of my stock exhaust, easy enough to adjust the bracket so this wont happen, but feel that corbin should have fore warned of this possible issue. Has anyone else had an issue with these bags? I have had corbin products for 20 or so years, this is my only complaint to date.

I love my bags also, but I have had three problems with them. One has nothing to do with Corbin, it sustained damage in shipping. Something went through the shipping box and all of the packing and hit the bag on the very tip of the bag on the back end of it. I talekd to Corbin as soon as I noticed the problem and when I decide that I'm not going to be using it any more this season, they will send a label so I can send it back to them to replace it.

Secondly when I installed the bags, the left bag dropped down after a short while and rubbed against the fender bracket and scraped the inside of the bag up and took off the paint on the fender bracket. When I talked to Corbin about that problem they said they knew about the. problem and redesigned the mounting brackets. I guess not all Spyders were being drilled exactly the same and thats why not everyone had that problem. They are going to send new brackets when they ship my bag back to me and even told me send the bracket back to them and they would paint that as well.

Lastly when we were on our way home from Gatlinberg we were in torrential down pours both days coming back, and the left bag leaked a lot of water in and saturated a lot of things in the bag. I adjusted the latches and hinges and they shut real tight now, but haven't been in the rain since I made the adjustments, so I don't know if it will leak again or not.

All that being said, I really do like the bags alot. They have loads of room in them and I think they compliment the Spyder and balance the back of the machine to the wide front end.

Hi, Spyderjockey,
You might want to check the rubber washer near the latch. What made me think of that is that I had the same problem, just with one bag. Turns out the little metal post that is supposed to rivet the rubber was too short on one of my bags. I went to my Ace hardware store and replaced it with a longer one that made a better seal. I have not had any problem since, and boy, do I love those bags! you are right, they balance the front end of the Spyder. They contain so much that whenever the weather is nice enough, I park my car for the season and use my Spyder to run errands, shop for groceries etc. Saves me a bundle just in gas!

Hi Frenchie,

Thanks for the tip, that very well could be the problem because that rubber grommet came out and I put it back in with a similar sized rivet, but it didn't seem to be any tighter. I didn't have any longer ones. I'll get some longer ones and reattach it with that and hopefully that will fix the problem. I can't wait for the good weather to return. It has been a really cold hard winter here in central N.Y. Where do you live?

Thanks again and have a safe rYding season.

To Kronograf:

Yes, I have issues with my Corbin saddle bags. My problem is that the mounting that hold the right saddle bag lowers the OEM muffler and causes it to get beat up on every irregualarity or speed bumps. I think the right hand saddle bag's bottom should be about 1" higher. This would not be noticable and though it would make the case one inch less deep. No big deal.

Adjust the rear shock, the muffler should not be making contact with the ground.
