I attempted to start the Spyder today and it would not start. When the starter button is pushed on it would not turn over. The battery is fully charged, and when the ignition switch is on the Multifunction guage, the left and right running lights, the license plate light, and the taillight all come on. The Spyder has not been ridden for 3weeks and was on a 2A trickle charger connected via the accessory adaptor in the trunk.

Does anyone know what may be causing this?

Some things I have seen others post: Make sure bike shut-off button is in on position, make sure start up sequence is correct : switch on, neutral, press mode button once-screen stops scrolling-then start button. Check that all relays and fuses are well seated.

a few times today I had an issue with starting; Same as above, in the three times it occured, it took two or three tries to turn it over. It's as if the computer had latency in it onboard diags.

Three weeks is too long to leave even a trickle charger on a bike battery. You need to get one of the intelligent chargers that go in float or maintenance mode once the battery is fully charged. Good luck on diagnosing your starting problem. I hope you have not already damaged your battery. Ryde Safe and Enjoy

I know this is an old topic but did you ever find out what the problem was? It sounds like my bike is doing the same thing.

Once the origianl relays were replaced with the upgraded ones that Evoluzione sells, the Spyder started without any problem. :D My intelligent trickle charger worked great and it kept the battery from over charging.:riding:

If you have the Spyder Shop Manual check page 200. It describes a procedure to follow if your Spyder engine fails to start.
