does anybody know if the rear brake caliper ratchets closer as pads wear? our spyder's brake pedal stiffens dramatically when park brake is engaged. is it possible that the brake caliper not self adjusting is causing longer brake pedal travel? thanks for your help.

On most brake systems the pistons move in as the pads wear, the calipers are stationary. The brake pedal and the parking brake are interconnected to a degree. I believe what you are noticing is normal. That it is why it is easier to release the parking brake if you press down on the brake pedal. Be sure you do not have one of the units that is part of the parking brake recall before you dismiss the issue. I also believe that Ken found some pistons that were sticking but have not read much about any follow up. Ryde Safe and Enjoy

The follow-up to my uneven brake wear that Ken helped me with was to replace the calipers per BRP.
I will not know the outcome I guess until I check the front brakes down the road.
