I know about the 4" risers and the BRP risers as well as the kewlmetal bars. Why is it we cannot use regular aftermarket bars? I know there were hundreds available for my ATV's. Sorry if this has already been discussed but I did not find anything searching. Thanks!

I installed the Kewlmetal bars and I love them. I'm adding some speakers and a GPS this week.

ARENT YOU CONCERNED THAT GETTING SPYDIE OUT ON THE TWISTY ROADS AND IN THE MOUNTAINS YOU WONT HAVE THE SAME SEATING POSITION TO REALLY POSITION YOURSELF OVER THE FRONT END TO TAKE THE TURNS?

I ALSO HAVE A 04 ROAD KING, THATS MY CRUISER WITH APE HANGERS BUT THE SPYDER WAS MORE DESIGNED FOR A SLIGHTLY FORWARD POSITION...

DOES THIS BAR SET UP CHANHE YOUR OVERALL RIDE ABILTY AND MAKING HER TAKE HARD TURNS?

This is a less aggressive riding position to be sure. You instinctively want to slow down and relax. Anyone who has ever ridden a Busa and then hopped on a Goldwing understands this. It's mental.

Physically, I can still do all the things I did before including hard turns. The Spyder may have been designed for a more aggressive riding position but the pullbacks enhance the touring experience without giving up the fun factor the Spyder offers.

I'm headed to Gatlinburg next week to "tame the Dragon" so I'll put your twisty roads and in the mountains to the test. ;)

Sorry for digressing, Dragon. I'm not familiar with either of those. I just hadn't seen much on other bars so I thought I'd share my experience.

Your right for certain, to each his own and it is about comfort.
We did fix a new Spydie up here for a new customer who was a bit short in the inseam....
He went with Corbin fairing but had to go through many different style of QUAD bars to find the right fit,
The thing everyone needs to watch for is putting the Spydie into a full turn, some bars got in the way of the new Corbin so you have to make sure the bars work.
Good luck on your ride, My father in law rides an 03 Wing and ive taken her for a spin a few times,
I think that really is the Cadi of all 2 wheelers....
I stick with my 04 Road King for the slow loud rides and my Spyder or the hills and mountains around Lake Tahoe.
Have a safe ride.

I have just fitted a set of the Street Magic 3" risers (I already have the 1" BRP riser). Previously I was sitting close to the tank to get any bend in my arms and I was still getting a pain between my shoulder blades (I am 6ft with a pretty dodgy back) . Now I can sit back in the seat, still have roughly the same body position but bend my arms and relax my shoulders. I guess a longer ride on Sunday will tell me more but it seems great so far. Definitely less effort to turn the bars now and cornering is easier.

Downsides?? Nothing significant. Sure I am nervous cutting of the bars and clamping the risers on but realistically this sort of clamp fitting has been used for years on motorcycles. Rerouting the cables took a little effort and for a while I thought there was no way the reverse cable would make it but it did after I rearranged it (if you do this yourself ring me and I will explain) . Sure the riding position now looks less " sporty" - more "cruiser" style but I am willing to put up with that to be comfortable. I recommend them if you are not totally satisfied with the standard bars.

I like the idea of these risers. They have snowmobile, ATV, and Motorcycle versions. I like the snowmobile one best. If you add an ATV style bar to the top you could have up to 9.5" of adjustability. I have the 4" risers now and have another inch or so to go on the cables.

You might want to check out Helibars.com
They are producing a 2" rise with 5" pullback set of risers that keeps your stock center console AND adds a mounted RAM ball and 12v outlet. They alos have a BIllet Alum. Cover for the iginition switch instead of the cheap BRP plastic.

I'm riding with the first production set now and I love it!

The grips in Martin's photo are actually of my spyder. Those are just a motocross grip for $13.00 by Progrip that I got at the local cycle shop. I really like them though.

Hi Deb
I thought they were your Spyder but I got the images from Evans web site.
I have fitted some "Grip Puppies" myself. They slip over the existing grips and I am very happy with them.

Not a problem,
I am so happy with the products that NoMagicNeon puts out there that I have no problem with using my spyder for advertising. I have quite a few of his spyder accessories and I have plans for the next few he is coming out with. I absolutely love my handlebar risers the most so far though.

Just my opinion and observations. Cutting ones handle bars and bolting something on is very dangerous. Not to say that a new way of doing things is bad, but even at the Wheels Through Time where there are some of the very first bikes built to the new paradigm shift Spyder, ALL handle bars are a solid piece. With inherent vibrations of any vehicle, especially motorcycles and specifically in the handle bars, I would be constantly checking to make sure thinks are tight. :TgC_emoticon142:

I was certainly nervous cutting and clamping - only time will tell BUT "All handle bars are a solid piece?" :TgC_emoticon142:

There are hundreds of styles of clip on bars in use. I am not sure how the NoMagic Neon ones vary so much from these that have been accepted for years?

B1TTEN's concern may come from the fact that the Spyder is not a motorcycle. The Spyder requires a great deal of steering input resulting in high amounts of pressure on the bars.
