Hey Ken
I was going to respond to your first post about having to pay for a new shield from Leo. Same thing happened to me a few months ago. Somewhere along the ride, I lost my shield. Called them, they sent me a new one no charge They even paid the UPS
Awesome pipe, and as you said "Great customer service" Lock tite is critical
Just came from Bob's Big Boy at LA event. Listening to all the different pipes reassured my decision. LV is best choice for me.
Back for more fun tomorrow!

I know I would be in the minority but I am actually not a huge fan of the noise and was just fine keeping the stock pipe till the black paint that covers the muffler started flaking and peeling...anyone have this happen?

Had the same issue. I got so bad that I switch to the Hindle last week Thursday. Frankly was not sure if I would like the extra noise, which is one of the reasons I had not changed from the stock in the first place. But after almost 300 miles I find that I like it. Helps others to notice when I'm passing them.

I had Hindle put on at dealership when bike was delivered. I love the sound and when all the sneering HD riders look at me when I'm leaving the local man-bar, I crank that sucker up and attitudes do change.

I took the Hindle off and went back to stock about 3 weeks ago. Social responsibility got the best of me. It's still plenty fast and all the backfiring went away and my gas mileage seems to have improved a bit too. I got 37 mpg on my last tank while playing in the mountain twisties. After 8 years on a GL1500 trike even the stock doesn't seem all that quiet. It's all relative. The Hindle will probably be up for sale soon.

Curious how many are keeping the stocker
I'm keeping the stock exhaust. I don't consider it ugly. I don't want to reduce weight in the rear. I don't want exhaust noise to drown out engine noise. The Spyder doesn't need more power. And I don't need to waste money that could be better spent on a Corbin seat!

I have a 2010 RT, and this past fall I put on dual exhaust and ued two brothers slip on mufflers, so am anxious for spring to arrive and see how well it performs, and plan on wrapping my exhaust from the headers to the mufflers to reduce heat. This should increase performance and power.

I have a Corbin seat and I recommend you take a look at some pictures.
corbin seat
The drivers seat is ok but the passenger seat needs work. If you look at the bike from the side you'll notice the passenger seat is sloped toward to the driver. Most seats are low in the back and the front is higher. The way the seat sits now means that every time I use the brakes my wife slides forward into me. She is always having to push herself back even when she is just sitting there because of the forward slope. If they are counting on the high back of the drivers seat to act as a stop for her they are dreaming because there is very little room between us to start with. By the time she reaches the back of my seat she is already leaning on me. I will have to take the seat to someone and have them build some and stitch it to the front of the passenger seat to act as a stop. This is something Corbin should have done at the factory. I have an '08 GS. Love the bike but hate the seat. For the money you pay there is a lot left to be desired. If I were going to buy a new seat I think I would look at the BRP comfort seat. Check it out before you spend all the money they want. Just my opinion.

I'm keeping my stock. I always had loud pipes up until I bought my RT S&C. And it so plesant to have a quit trike. The one reason I bought the Sound & Counv. is because it had a radio. And I want to be able to hear it without some loud pipes messing it up. Tony Mac, on 29 August 2008 - 10:29 AM, said:

I had Hindel put on at delivery and then switched back to stock exhaust about 3 months ago to see what the difference was. Certainly quiter and smoother downshifting but have put the Hindel back on because I like the sound. LOUD PIPES SAVE LIVES.

Hindel! I want to be heard. I always say "cars don't look for bikes so they don't see 'em, If they hear you then they look for you."
Loud pips save lives.
