Has anyone purchased an F1 EVO III Cruiser style windshield yet? I am 5'10" and have a regular torso length. It appears to be shorter and wider but I can't find any separate specs or pricing for it on the F1 site. Does anyone know how it compares to the CalSci windshield? That one looks pretty slick, but I would like to have the shield be slightly tinted. Thanks in advance for any and all feedback - GO2LKG

I've got an EVO III windshield. How I got mine was to call Marcel July the owner of F1 windshields. He asked me several questions concerning my height and desired speed etc. Since you can speak to Marcel you can get the price from him. I am sure that he can tint the shield. check out his website at http://www.f1windshields.com/

I've sent them 2 emails without a reply. Do you have to call to get pricing and options?

The easiest is to call, yes. And at 5'10" it should be perfect for you. My hubby is 6'3" with a long torso and it just barely hits him in the eyes when he rides.

Thanks for the responses. My biggest question is around wind buffeting...the CalSci shield has a vent hole in it and the FI EVO III Cruiser does not. Anyone have experience with how the F1's ride with no vent holes?

Thanks - GO2LKG

My F1 was terrible with head buffeting, and my bad experience with Marcel and his company came to the point of having to file a complaint with Visa to get a refund. I cannot recommend his products or company. Holes not lining up, cracking, terrible buffeting, bad service after the sale.

For the price of what you're talking.... $300.... you can get one of the adjustable shields from Shawn at Industries 7... and I'm sure he will stand behind the product.

The Calsci shields are laser cut.. so they WILL line up perfectly and can have real vents in them... not add-on ugly circle vents. CalSci will not have a tinted version because the material is very expensive and they would have to buy a ton of it. Their material is DOT certified... as is the Industries 7.

I will second going with another company. If the shield fits and there are no issues, you will be fine. Any issues will not be dealt with in any kind of friendly manner. At least that was my experience. I have heard that the shields have gotten better but I have heard nothing but good from Calci so far. I don't know that anyone has gotten one from Shawn.

Much appreciated feedback. Does anyone know how to contact Shawn at Industries 7? I would like to look at theirs as well before making any decisions. Thanks again - GO2LKG

Hi
Shawn is not with Industries 7 anymore. I have been talking to John and Emmanuel as I have brought a batch of the luggage racks into Australia.
info@industries7.com
The new adjustable windscreens (in clear and a graduated smoke tint) should be available at the end of the month. See details at Spyder Ryder Accessories

I don't know this for sure but I didn't think Shawn was ever with Industries 7. He is with Thibault. Industries 7 is the US distributor for the Givi racks and windshields that were being produced by Thibault, which is a Canadian Company. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

The last time I talked to Shawn he worked at Thibualt, but was at Industries 7 to help out as they were swamped with orders. So I guess he was just on lone to Industries 7 from Thibault.

But Marc said the other day that he is no longer with Thibualt.

I'm wondering if Givi got mad enough about his rack system that Thibualt had to give them a sacrificial lamb???

Just a thought. I'm still interested in his rack setup... but I'm not thrilled with how Givi has dealt with this whole thing.

Hey Everyone - Thanks for your feedback. I went ahead and bought the CalSci windshield, which should arrive today. I will post on the ease of installation and the performance ASAP. Thanks again!
