For what you pay for the windshield you shouldn't have to do anything to it. As far as it hitting, whether you are driving or not it shouldn't hit and I have got myself a few times. When I sent pictures back describing my dissapointment with the rough cuts I was told that is the way they are. Compare that to almost all motorcycle windshields I have seen with almost a polished edge. This windshield is going, very dissapointed.
It is indeed too bad that the edge isn't polished, and I'm not a great fan of correcting what should have been done right in the first place. It is more pricey, but my Corbin fairing/windshield shields me very well from rain, stones, pebbles and bugs. I don't ride with a passenger, but I believe that this Corbin is a nice setup. I get no turbulence behind, like I did with the one my dealer first suggested. It looked just like the Calsi, with that edge curled slightly forward. I think they did it that way to add strength, because mine, although it was quite think did crack at the top 2 attachment screws. (I had the tall one). As far as my hand hitting the fairing, I can still lock my steering. I'd touch it with gloves, I'm sure, but I go that far only in a parking lot. (If you don't have the clearance needed while driving, you just drove yourself in a mess no windshield is going to fix)
I'm monkeing with the handle bar because I'd like to have it closer to me. My husband is suffering with the curled windshield still. (Corbin still hasn't shipped) He changed to ATV handlebars and cut the console. His bars are now higher and closer. I hope this won't be a problem when his Corbin fairing/windshield come
