Man. a blacked out turboed VRod, that is ALMOST enough for me to consider buying another Harley. ( My first was a 72 Rapido when I was 14).
You don't need to buy the Turbo V-Rod if you can buy a Turbo Spyder!
I had my Spyder down at Aerocharger for a few hours yesterday to check the feasibility of making a mass producible kit and I think things went well. There is interest, plenty of space and the Aerocharger folks DEFINITELY have the know how, contacts and skills to make this a success. Nothing is 100% locked in yet, but as I continue conversation with those folks, I'll keep you updated on this thread.
darn, I wish I would have gotten picks when we were holding their mock up unit on or around the Spyder....

I will be very interested in the turbo once they have been proven to work well - there is no end to the possible accessories for this ride.....any discussion on how much HP this would add and at what RPM?

I am very interested as well. I have been watching this thread since it started and finally felt really hopefule about a turbo kit when you posted in Decenber that you would be taking your spyder to these guys. I've had a few ideas for changing the airbox and airfilter setup but I'm waiting to see if there going to do a kit before I put too much time into fabrication. Is there anything anyone else can do to help this project along?

I like the wheels on your spyder! Where did you get those?
As far as helping the turbo kit get moving, documented interest in a kit is a plus - Aerocharger has to weigh the potential business value to the investment of making the kit, so the more people that either view or respond to this thread will definitely help.
They have a project or 2 going on at the moment, but I am hoping that we can solidify something and start working towards a prototype soon. To answer the other question regarding HP at what RPM, etc.. I would go to www.aerocharger.com and read about their technology - they profess "instant boost" with no lag due to the design of their system.
As far as HP goes... one could only guess at this point. I think Kens comment on the actual compression of the spyder being in the 9ish:1 area is a good deal especially if we're looking at how much boost, air to air or air to water intercooler and the potency of gas you can get ahold of. 91 Octane is premium here, with small spots that carry 92... I know in other places there is 93 octane on every corner. Chances are we'll tune for 91 and go a bit more conservative - that is the only speculation I'll make at this point.
Any HP numbers, prices, availability, etc with this dream "kit" are unknown and will be up to Aerocharger to officially list. I wont speculate anything, they are the experts, I just happen to have a Spyder and be down the street, I am offering mine up whenever they want it.
As I said above, please respond with your interest level and I'll keep talking to the folks at Aerocharger to try and get things moving!

I am still working with the folks at Aerocharger - they just completed a kit for a Victory motorcycle. They sent me a video clip of the thing revving... the boost guage looks like a Tach! ZERO LAG, its crazy as hell.
I will keep updating as new events occur.
