Spyder accessories Comments/thoughts/recommendations?

With the relatively high price of accessories here in Australia, I'm keen to hear any comments and thoughts and recommendations from other Aussies about what you've put on your Spyder.
So far I've gone with the optional 6 spoke rims which was a personal choice as I thought they looked much better than the standard rims.
I've also got the Hindle fitted and I can't rave about that enough. The sound is truly incredible and I highly recommend it. As much as it was expensive, and was bought without having heard it, I couldn't have it any other way. I was just so unimpressed with the scooter sounding standard exhaust on the demo unit I rode.
Anyone want to add any comments on any accessories they've fitted?

Hi Schuffo
I have the custom seat cover (looks much better than the original for mine, glad I bought that), knee pads (don't really think they're worth anywhere near the money) and the disc caliper decals (can take or leave them). I also have the outdoor cover, which while expensive, is protecting $28K's worth of machine.
I may order the rack and backrest as I have nearly tipped wifey of the back already (waiting to see how Martin goes with the Givi system before I make a decision).
I definitely like the sound of the Hindle, but just a little concerned on the volume. I live in a very peaceful neighbourhood and would like to keep it that way.
I still can't figure out why accessories are double the price of the US though (especially since the dollar is almost one to one now). I bought an oil filter ($28), O ring ($8) and oil ($21 per litre) the other day. The oil better be bloody good for that sort of money.

Oh, and I bought the Calibre jacket. Very high quality and reasonable value...can recommend it.

Instead of the knee pads I covered that area with a clear film (like super heavy duty Glad Wrap) that you can get from auto accessory stores. It is meant to protect the paint on motorcycle tanks etc. So far its fine.
As far as the rack and Givi bags go see Rack fitment for the current state. I should have the Givi bags Thursday and the BRP rack and backrest by the end of the week. The rack from Canada has brackets to match in with the BRP rack should you fit one.
I will update that page as I go with photos etc.

You're right the Hindle can be loud, but when i'm in my suburb at night i just keep the revs down and haven't had any complaints yet (touch wood
Ouch, $21 per litre is up there. That's more than Mobil 1. I haven't had my first service yet so not sure what to expect from a servicing cost.
Not sure what the jacket I have is called, you mentioned calibre. It's a Spyder one i have and you're right the quality is fantastic.
Great tip Martin about the clear film, might have to get some this weekend. Certainly looking forward to seeing photo's with the bags on

FYI. In Victoria, a car rego plate is required. The overhangs on mine broke (vibrated) off each side. All that was left was "HD". The state, first letter and all 3 numbers broke off. I'd already ordered a BIKE RACK plate and it came this morning. Much better and only $26.

Were you the one that took the Spyder through the creek at the Guzzi rally??

Was not me. However riding from St. George to Moree earlier this week was like riding along one big long creek. Three two wheelers chickened out. I persisted. A couple of times when just one front wheel hit a long deep puddle, I reckon the stability control kicked in. Also I did a KM or two on very slippery and wet mud. Thank god for 3 wheels.

Has anybody any ideas about towing the spyder behind a 4WD or car similar to the system employed by Oztrike?
For extended time travelling, they have a geat idea which leaves the back wheels on the ground and uses a custom hitch arrangement to lift the front wheel and attach the frame to the towbar.
Could be a real hit with the Grey Nomads for their motor homes.

First purchase was the seat cover (as I manged to tear my original - my fault). US$200 plus US$80 postage came to AUD$303.
Second purchase (with 10% discount) was a T-Shirt ($27), Caliper Covers ($18), Outdoor Cover ($135) & Hindle ($540) plus $200 postage. Total was AUD$992.
Even if Customs deem that duty is due (package > AUD$1000?), I believe it's 10%, the discount I got in the first place.
Robs were about the old Can-Am dealer offering International Postage. And they offer a lot more than just Spyder products too.
