I have yet to decide on what type of helmet lock I want to invest in and until now have not really had a need for one. With the trip into SF this weekend I will not have the option of using the storage trunk for the full face Nolan helmet.
So I picked up a foot of 3/32" plastic coated cable and two ferrules to fit the cable. There is a metal flange with openings on either side under the handle bar cover. This will allow one helmet on either side, and the helmet will not rub against any part of the Spyder.
For less than $ 2 it was a quick and easy way to secure the helmet to Spydie. ;)

Great Idea. I never notice the metal flange under the handle bar cover. I have the same Nolan helmet, I have added the N-Com system to mine. So, I'm still leary about leaving the helmet with the bluetooth unit installed. With your Isystem I can remove the bluetooth unit, and leave the helmet.

Thanks for hint.

I've just started using a cable bike lock and I string it through my full face helmet and also through my coat sleeve if need be and attach to the grab bars on the rear of the bike. If I string it through both grab bars, the helmet is secure on the seat and can't be knocked off or blown off. It seems to work and I already own the bike cable and lock.

I use a thick cable and strap our helmets to the grab bar in the rear and I put our jackets, gloves, and pants in the trunk.

Tharkun, are we still on for this Saturday in SF? Let me know, we'll meet up with you. Where in SF are you going? Do you want to meet up somewhere here in the east bay and ride over together or what? PM me if you still want to get together. I have yet to see another Spyder on the road in 2700+ miles.
