I purchased a Windjammer II from Proline Sports and am THRILLED with it.

Basically the problem I was having is wind coming up into my helmet and bothering my eyes.

Well, this unit simply goes around the bottom of the helmet and you leave it on. It does a great job of keeping the wind out of your helmet from below.

It has a sticky rubber type substance that just sticks to the helmet... kind of like the sticky wally walk-walker toys. I even trimmed mine to go around my external headset mounting parts. The bottom opening stretches when you put your head through it. It comes on and off easily and can be moved from helmet to helmet.

What else can I say.... it just works!

I was lazy and stole these photos online.... they are not of my helmet.

You can order them from Proline:

http://www.proline-sports.co.uk/acatalog/M...ycling-Gear.htm

They are in the UK and ship VERY quickly.

Cost is around $26 including shippng to the US.

Hi Danimal
Did this then make any difference to noise levels in your helmet??

It has been GREAT. My helmet has vents to allow air in the correct places. The windjammer still allows some air in.... just enough.

I love it!

My Shoei Multitech has something similar but I've taken it off now when it's really warm. Helps a bit with the sound, coming to air I don't know if it makes any difference really. Took it of because it is in contact with my neck and therefore makes it warmer.

I might be wrong but doesn't the Multitech have a chinbar that can be raised up........I had one of those types of helmets (not the Shoei) and it is the noisiest helmet I ever owned, would never own another....so yours maybe made no difference since you have a seam on both sides of the helmet that allows the chinbar to pivot up??? In that case no matter what you put on the bottom its still going to be loud as hell....I could see light through certain parts of mine...but it is a different brand so it may be better on the Shoei......just askin.
I am only 37 and semi retired. Find out how I do it Visit My Website
