Hi all,

Well after 2.5 days of ownership, I have a smile from ear to ear that I can't wipe off. I'm still learning how to best ride the thing but that is just a familiarity thing that I'm sure we can all relate to.

Anyway, the reason for my post was I'm wondering how many Spyders there are here in QLD (South East QLD more specifically) and if there's any interest in meeting up at some time.

Martin here. Robina Gold Coast. Certainly I would like to meet up with others.
Since I had a BMW R1150R previously Marion and I go on rides with the GC BMW owners group. A social group mostly over 40 YO. I am 58.
Picked up the Spyder, silver #930 (plate 05PDR) easter and have around 2800km on it now. Just getting the real hang of the twisties now.

I might be at springwood suzuki this saturday, I traded my two bikes + cash with them to get the Spyder,
It was goodbye to my Kawasaki Vulcan 900 cruiser and a Burgman 650 scooter, I will still be going on regular rides with a scooter group I ride with as they are a good group of people both male and female and the scooters are all Maxi size and get along real well in the twisties and H'way speeds, I am one of the admin of our website, we have day rides of around 250k's or so and shorter night rides of around 50k's in more lit up areas ending at a coffee shop or a Macka's for some social chat. we have a ride on this Saturday night taking in Mt Coot-Tha and surounding areas. normaly have around 12 to 15 on the night rides and around 20 on the day rides. my wife is one of the female riders on her 250 scooter which she rode to Melb and back in the past. Because it' a maxi scooter group I am the only one with a Spider so far and they cant kick me out because I'm on the admin team I think it will only be a matter of time and it will be "Along Came Another Spider" to join our group rides, one of our guys is very keen on the new RT Spyder even at it's crazy price.

East from Brisbane? Not too far I hope. That would be interesting. Could find out how much Sea-Doo design has made its may into the Spyder.

i was bitchin on Sunday.....so i could have a nanna nap in the afternoon on the way home
