Some personal background. I have a BMW K1200LT with an aftermarket Parabellum, windscreen. I'm used to having quiet and comfort at highway speeds. I tour and listen to XM and the radio and I want to continue that enjoyment. My wife and I also use the TeamSet Bluetooth headsets. The Sport Touring WS from BRP gave me none of what I'm used to. I'm 6'2" tall and weigh 230lbs and I wear a "stich" to ride most of the time. I posted a picture of my newly mounted, yellow, EVO II last night and I'll leave the discussion on the "look" of the WS for another thread.
This AM, traveled about 20 miles to work on I79 averaging 70 mph but jumping 75 mph from time to time. The WS does very well in reducing wind noise and "buffeting." I was able to travel with the vents on the lower WS open and leave my faceshield up or down with good if not great sound reduction from the wind. (I can hear the Spyder's engine now) I am looking directly through the WS and it is optically fine except where the screen is bent slightly at the top right and left corners. Looking through the yellow is like wearing sunglasses. I do not think this will be a problem for me.
My impressions are very positive as to this WS doing what it's designed to do. If you can live with the "looks," and the wind is a problem for you now, this may be your solution. I will be at Valcourt so you can see the WS first hand if you are there.

Glad to here you like your EVO II. I was supposed to have mine (EVO II) a week ago, but still don't have it. I wasn't too happy as Marcell assured me I would have it before the trip I had to go on. And now i fine out I want be getting it till next Friday. As it turned out the trip of 450 miles the temp. was 28 degrees starting out and I can tell you the stock windshield is a joke. And on the way back all of a sudden it got real windy & rained like hell the whole last 168 miles. Thought I might have to stop as at times you could hardly see the road. I don't know what happened but this was planned on having the windshield before the trip. The shield was ordered 2 1/2 weeks before. On the good side there was no problem with hydroplaning. Even traveling at 80 mph. Spyder performed flawless. Averaged 31.8 mpg. Not to bad considering the wind and rain as both had to and effect gas mileage as well as speed. A guy I referred to Marcel ordered his a week after i did and he got his already.

I believe the EVO is a tall F1 with vents. I'm sure Marcel will make it any height you would like. I can't comment on how it would work. I don't know. Based on other WS I've had, being able to see over the windshield comes with a small wind noise penalty if it's done correctly.

Correct on both accounts.

Thank you for your review on the Evo II shield. I can't wait to see if we have similar results with ours. My husband is 6'3". I am only 5'4" so I'll have to get used to looking through the windshield all the time.

Update...I did mot like looking through the yellow windshield. After several rides in the rain and mist, I removed the WS and sent it back to Marcel with instruction to "cut down" to just below my normal line-of-sight. Marcel assures me this will have little effect on wind deflection. I'll post again after i receive the modified WS. Once again, Marcel was the consumate professional and made every accomodation to make me happy.

If you do have any buffeting or real wind problems witht the cut down shield, try the heated tweaking that Mracel talks about on his site, that helped me tremendously.

Hi do you know just were that info is on tweeking the w/s.. I think mine is way to high about 6" over my eye sight. When it gets covered with bugs and or rain at night could be very hard to see though. Thanks Deb.

Here is the link Putt-Putt. http://www.f1windshi...shields_006.com but I can only get it to work with Internet Explorer as my browser. It doesn't want to work on Safari, Firefox or Navigator. I have a Mac so I don't know if that makes a difference.

I had the same problem you discuss. Marcel had me "mark" the height where I normally look over the windshield and down the road and had me send the EVO back for him to trim and make adjustments. He said there was too much adjustment for me to do using a heat gun. I have not received the return product, but I appreciate Marcel's comittment to my satisfaction. Pretty rare today with internet transactions.

I ordered the EVO II in light smoke as I will always be looking through the shield because of my height. I am concerned about wearing my dark face shield with the tinted windshield while driving through the tunnel. I guess I'll have to flip the shield on my helmet up when I have that situation. We have to drive through the tunnel to and from work.

I have an almost perfect dead-air space at eye level. The F1 height is positioned so that I look over the top of the windshield, not through it. It must be pretty important to get the height of your eye level correctly placed with reference to the height of the windshield. We are all a little different. Some tall people have their height in their legs, others have their height in their torso. While I am 5ft. 11in tall (having lost about an inch with age), I have rather stubby legs, etc. When the dead-air space is at eye level like mine is positioned at the F1 windshield has to be the best windshield I recall using over the past 40 years.

We got our EVO II on Friday just in time for our long ride on the freeway on Saturday and I have to say that at 70MPH I was able to ride without putting my face shield down which was really nice. My only complaint is the fit isn't perfect. It doesn't fit into the cutout on the front for the stock shield and I had to use washers (which I need to get some black ones cuz the silver ones look stupid).

Unfortunitly that seems to be the case with most of the Windshelds.
I will say that the effect of Marcel's Windsheld is all I could have hoped for.
Don't mean to sound corny but it has delivered on it's claims.
Unless your VERY fussy about fit and finish. Once it's installed
you'll hardly notice any lack of fitment.

Gratz! How's the view through the windshield?

The view is not too bad at all. I have no problem seeing through it at night with my clear shield on. I didn't try having my dark shield on during the day (I didn't have room to bring it with me and I knew we were coming back during the night so I just put the clear on). I am very happen with the pocket this shield creates. It was hard to believe we were doing 70 on the freeway. Awesome!!
As for fit into the grooves... I think I will eventually break out the dremel or something and cut it to make it fit. It's REAL close, but not quite. It's all good.
