I installed Ken's power bus unit - very nice kit and pretty easy to follow.

I had one problem - in looking for the connectors inside of the 'rubber boot' unit. Mine was still hooked to the front shock mount area.... just wasn't expecting it to be there.

Anyway - the install went well, but I also wanted an easy way to hook up ground connectors - rather than run ground wires all over the bike every time I wanted to add something.

I couldn't find exactly what I wanted in the limited timeframe I had - so I just bought a wire connector strip at Radio Shack and modified it to become a ground bus.

I cut a piece of metal along the back of the connector strip so all the connectors go into a cable (from Ken's kit) - which I screwed the other end of to the frame.

It works really well - all you have to do is strip a ground wire - insert it into one of the holes and screw it down.

If it wasn't so late at night I could have just used a wire connector unit like the kind you find in your electric panel at home and just screwed it directly to the frame.

This worked out fine.... I'm sure could be done better or improved upon.

I didn't end up screwing Ken's power bus to the frame - I used the heavy-duty double stick pad stuff instead - a BUNCH of it.... covered the whole bottom of the bus.

Very nice to have easy access.

Here are some pics...

the reason we didn't offer a "ground bus" was that i figured that you would ground close to the installed component and then just run the power lead to the power bus. if you would like to have the ground block we can supply them that way as well.

Good idea.... I would offer that option Ken. Most of the items I'm mounting (GPS, Phone, etc.) are mounted on the handlebars.... not a great place to ground up there...

I'll see how my fix works out.... if it doesn't then I just might order one of those...

Thanks!

+1 on offering the ground option, Ken. I wish I had had it when I installed the Power Bus.

Me 3. A few of the items I wish to power via the Powerbus have the hot and ground wires jacketed in one cable so the better option for me would have been the power block with the ground bus right there also. Instead I had to strip back a bunch of the jacket to get a long enough section of ground wire free to run to the ground screw on the frame.
