Lamonster,
I saw that too. It appears the bracket piece that turns up outside the cowling is 1" X 3/16" steal. I would opt for a wider or triangular piece for strength. But still, I can't find where to find the highway peg assembly. I've thought of aluminum treadplate from the footpeg mount to the cowling instead of the flat plat shown. I can't wait for mine to arrive. My dealer seems to be behind the eightball on upgrades and mods. Innovation and inventiveness are things Alabama is known for.

I haven't been back to this spot for awhile and guess I should update you abit. I have tried almost everything the get comfortable and now realise that my legs "must" wear into the riding position of the bike. I have lowered the pegs 1 inch from the first unit I built and even brought them back 1 1/2 inchs. That gets my feet almost as low as the bottom of the fairing. It also allows my feet to sit on the pegs without hitting the forward fairing. I actually rest the front part of my shoes on the pegs so that I can downshift and brake with my heals. Now that I lowered the foot rests I do have to lift my heal higher for the brake but the shifter I lowered. I tried foot pegs on the outside were the highway brackets are and even drilled another hole 2 inches lower for comfort but I find that does nothing to help my legs so I don't have pegs out there.
I'm back again. I have found that with my feet down on these forward and lower pegs that I can downshift and brake with ease. The only problem I'm having it that when I put my feet back onto the OEM foot pegs my hips seem to hurt. I now realise that the seat or should I say "Saddle" needs to be built up at least 1 1/2" to make my seating position tolerable. I have seen that someone on the Syder Lovers site did just that and even more. Looks like he added foam as high as the rear to make it almost 3 inches taller. I think that is not what I need and would be happy with the 1 1/2 inch higher and firmer foam because the OEM foam let you sit lower. Got to do something to get comfortable. Next thing once higher is a taller windscreen. First things first.

Thanks Spyder-Dude.....as this "bike" becomes more popular...following the forum will be an endeavor in patience and longevity. Now that I see the entire bracket, it appears much more stable than I thought.
