Hello guys... The new-b is back...
I am having a hard time at some traffic lights when I am trying to turn left. It seems that some of them are not detecting me. I read that there are 'light switchers' that you strap on the bike and help you out.
My questions is, since they all claim to be 'THE BEST'. Which ones are actually better? or are they different at all? what have you guys used? what have been your experiences?
Any feedback you can share?
Thanks!

Hi there. I use a green light trigger on my Kawasaki Concours. There is a light near my home that would not change for love or money until I put this device on. It does work, in my personal experience.

Cheers,

I've used the signal sorcerer (www.signalsorcerer.com). It's been effective on every light I've ever encountered.

I have used them myself and from my experience I am not sure they really make all that much difference. Articles in several motorcycle magazines over the years since their introduction lead me to believe that may help some, but may be "snake oil". I once read an article about how to make one yourself using the magnet from a speaker. They claimed that this larger more powerful magnet was really effective. It looked like :censored: and was problematic to mount. The best solution is to call local law enforcement and report it. The sensetivity of the light can be changed in most cases. How long that will take and when it might get done is another matter. (personal experience says sometimes quickly, sometimes never :wall: ) Make a record of your call(time, date, who you spoke to etc.). This can be useful after you have sat through several light cycles, get frustrated and turn when it is safe, only to have law enforcement come in to view. :cop: Motorcyclists can often trigger the light by putting their sidestand down on or near the sensor loop. I have never tried this as not having my engine running while in traffic is not my idea of a viable alternative and is not an option on the Spyder. Most of the calls I have made over the years about lights not triggering for my motorcycles have been dealt with in a fairly reasonable lenght of time. I think I got this tip years ago from the American Motorcyclist Assoc. magazine and it works. Good luck and safe ryding.

Most of ours are IR camera type sensors - so the greenlight would not help me... but I have not had a problem yet.....

Check your state and local laws. Her eis legal for motor cycless to proceed at a left turn if the light is not tripped. Same goes for for proceding at a redlight if an unresonable amount of time has passed waiting.

i run into problems triggering lights with my truck. i bet you (b1tten) have a fun time triggering lights with your spyder.

most of the time if theres no one coming and i've sat there for at least 2 mins, i just go.

i don't know what part of town you drive in but i can never get the light west of HyVee north on 37th st to turn.

I know in most parts of the country, you have to wait 2 cycles of the light before you can go.....then all's fair in love and war. Check your state motorcycle handbook, it will tell you.

I found buying and stickin one of the high powered chromed magnets for this company for just a few bucks works great on my bikes. It makes the stronger magnetic feild that the sensors need to see and in the 1/2 X 1/2 square size are very inexpensive. http://www.kjmagneti...cts.asp?cat=113
