Crazy question but better safe than sorry?!!

Came back from a ride Saturday and this was laying on the floor where the Spyder was parked. It looks like a very large black rubber O ring. Maybe a seal from somewhere? It measures about 5" in diameter.

I do not have anything like this nor do I have any need (that I know of) for this thing?!

No problems on the ride - nothing leaked - no weird sounds - etc., etc.

Anybody recognize it?

Thanks,
Sam

Yes I recognize it but I don't know what it is for. When I brought my Spyder home I believe it fell out of the zippered pouch that holds the tool kit in the trunk. I also would like to know what it is for.

It looks like the rubberband that holds the tool kit in place inside your trunk.

Easy way to find out, if it is missing, the tool kit will be laying in the bottom of the storage compartment. I just checked, and it is not that easy for it to fall off, but I could see it getting pulled out of the holding point well removing the tool kit. :)

BINGO!! Mystery solved. Thanks! ... I had to use my tool kit while on the road for a minor problem. In a hurry, I didn't put the tool kit back in the pouch using the rubberband. When I went home and emptied the trunk apparently the rubber band fell out and went under the Spyder!! I feel better now!! Thanks again.
