I am making up a list of what to check for before I drive my Spyder off the dealership lot. Here is what I have so far. Does anyone have anything else to add?
1. Check oil level.
2. Are the unidirectional tires mounted properly?
3. Are the tires inflated to spec?
4. Does the M button stick?
5. Does the P-brake engage/disengage?
6. Brake recall completed?
7. Are there missing bolts on the windshield?
8. (to ask, if it happens) Why the "clunk" when shifting to first?
9. (to ask) Anyway to avoid/minimize the burn spot on the muffler?
10. Make certain the dealer removed the protective coating on the brake rotors.

Don't forget your 10 pack of Spyder DVD's in the trunk... that way you'll have something to watch when your Spyder goes back into the shop for the... dare I? Ok the warranty work on the burn mark on the pipe, or, the paint peeling on the pipe, or the paint peeling on the rear sprocket and foot rest brackets, or the headlight adjustment bolt broken (and then having the whole front end apart while we wait for BRP to send the wrong headlight assembly, not once, not twice but three times). Am I bitter? No, I actually have a sense of humor about all this. Especially since I'm a Spyder Salesman and will eventually have to hold my clients hands while their Spyder goes in for surgery. After all, it's easier to be a counsellor when you have had similar issues.
I'm just happy to get it back after 13 days. Truthfully, I've never been more impressed with a product of any kind before. And yes... If you were one of the folks who took delivery of a 800 Rev XP this past fall, you'll understand what growing pains there are with any new product.

I would also make sure that the preload on all three shocks is set correctly for your weight and any passengers weight..larryd

I would suggest checking the belt adjustment. I suggest riding a few miles and then checking the alignment. If it has not been properly set up during the PDI, it will usually be apparent in a few miles of riding.

Don't forget to check the lights. I still have one headlight out of adjustment (I got the manual and will fix myself) and my right rear running light worked but not the turn sigmal. This is really a time to take all the time you want because after delivery you now have to deal with the SERVICE DEPT and they are quite backed up here in Sacramento.
Best wishes,
Best wishes,
Thank You & God Bless,
