Got to say that is the slickest thing I've seen yet. So does it mount through the rear axle? Does it require adjusting the belt then after putting it on?

The motorcycle trailer should be loaded so you have a max tongue weight of about 25 lbs. I have had mine loaded up for an 8,000 mile trip with clothes and spare parts. Still, it was easy to keep the tongue weight down at the 25 lbs.
Here is another picture from e-bay that I saw...
That is a good looking hitch,I was wondering about your lift table I can't quite make out the phone # where did you get it. Do they have a web site?

The way we engineered and designed the trailer hitch was a discusion in the shop in November. Bolting it to the frame was one of the Ideas, however the safety of mounting was a big concern. Nobody wants there trailer ghost riding next to them on the freeway. So the concept of putting it on the swing arm was chosen for the best way to tow a trailer. Now other questons come up as well of course? like what about the movement of the suspension, wheel and the connection with the trailer? Well all great questions..... During testing, by the way, I froze my as off for the glory of fellow spyder riders... Of course your rear tire moves, however not like you think. This is because the shock suspension pushes the rear tire in the downward position. You have to use some basic common sense! never fly over railroad tracks with a trailer attached or drive like you stole it if you know what i mean. I truly think that every spyder owner should have one of these quality made trailer hitches. They are stamped with our own 100 ton press then laser cut for precision and accuracy. Stainless steel hardware is used instead of other materials that will rust after time. The whole installation process takes about 5 minutes not 3 hours. We want to ride not install. Every part of this hitch was Cad designed and all tooling was CNC cut, this was not just thougth of over night just to make a buck! There are safety issues to be aware of, don't trust just anything to attach your trailer to. Were now making a reese style version which will be out by late next week. We have so many Ideals to customize the spyder. However safety is our first and main concern. Thank you all for your support. Jimmy

Here are some photos of the hitch. Also attached are some photos of the bike and trailer package. The thing that is a little tricky is to cut the slotted holes in the underfender splash pan. A cardboard template will certainly be the best way. Not to worry if you cut it a little loose, as a bit of black silicone around the bracket will seal it up. It is important to seal up the brackets. The water from the back tire can get up in the electrical components.
Beautiful trailer...I think Hannigan has hit a home run and the price seems very reasonable. Wonder if the Spyder wheels could be used on the trailer?

With an adapter plate yes you could. Hannigan is a class act. He has been building sidecars, trailers, trikes, quads, and hitches for years for the motorcycle industry. He is into cutomer value and cutomer satisfaction. There may be items at a cheaper price, but not any better quality. The Can-Am hitch they designed is mounted as hitches have been mounted for years and is stable during all ranges of operation. The hitch is removable by 4-3/8 bolts, but why remove it? It tucks in tight and is not obtrusive.

i'm not a trailer guy but based on the playing we've done with the suspension, how well does the spyder handle with a trailer? i know that brp has different vss settings with a passenger so i would assume that modifications to the vss logic would be needed with a trailer.

As you know this is a brand new product brp hasn't came out as far as i know about owners to be able to adjust anything on the spyder? meaning with the computer. I personnaly didn't find any issues yet, living in Michigan now I don't have the thousands of miles logged on my Bike. Thank you jimmy

I'll be putting a hitch on my Spyder soon but it won't be off of the swingarm. There's a reason that no trailer hitch manufacture puts a hitch on a non suspending part. That would be the easyest way to do it on all bikes if that was a good idea. I think you may have under estimated what stress the road can put on a hitch even with only 25lbs of tung weight. I hope they have good product liabilty on this one and I hope that nobody get hurt when that cracks and breaks.
By the way I had a welding biz for 16 years so I do know a little about metal fatigue.
I'm not sure if this is the same hitch or not but this is the hitch that was on the yellow Spyder with the matching trailer.

You would think that it would need a triangulated brace coming off the rear fender bracket if it is strong enough. I don't have my Spyder yet so I can't tell till I get it. Just off the swing arm would put extra stress on the swing arm and in the long run is that good? From bouncing up & down it may cause stress cracks leading to failer. Just My thoughts.

Maybe not but it's mounted the same and that's the real issue.

I must agree with you on the mount points on the frame. Product liability is a big issue these days in a sue society. The yellow Spyder at Daytona with the matching trailer's hitch didn't look as sturdy as the Monster Garage Hitch, but my concern is the flex and the metal fatique as you stated. I weigh 220 pounds and I can stand on the farthest point to the rear and no problem. I have adjusted the rear shock 1 notch stiffer. I have ridden it in different speeds and road conditions. The VSS has operated without a glitch. Only time will tell on the mount point issue. Both mounts may be fine as I hope no one get injured or damages their motorcycle.

The bike was purchased at http://www.lapointesports.com/ a firm in Quebec.
What I want to know is how did he get his Hindle pipe before I got mine? When I ordered last March?
Hmmmmm, connections at the factory do you suppose?
I wouldn't buy that hitch from the look and design of it. I will buy a hitch and that's a promise!
Just sayin

You are correct rbnicklin similar, but not a MMG product. That one there is made of angle iron. Our product is a 2.0mm sheet metal stamping and pressed in our 100 ton hydraulic press. We do this kind of stuff here in Detroit.

And I guess we"ll find out soon enough? In the mean while I belive as the lord Jesus christ as my witness our product is more than sufficient to pull motorcycle trailer with safety in mind. I'm the last person that wants to see or hear that someone was hurt because of one of our products. Were also finishing up on our prototype Reese hitch style hitch. Were excited! it will be out next week. this hitch is similar, however you will be able to adjust the height with different recievers. thank you god bless and drive safe.
