I have my M1 license, good to go, CA all the way to TN.
However, I might be flown back to the ship and still be out in the ocean when the rally starts. I will have to get back on you for this one.

Again, if CA does not have program to test with the Spyder, how are you to get the test?
Maybe travel to TN and take the test? :)
Do not believe you need any other license that your plate on the back states CA drivers license, CA test.

Perhaps this will clarify why CA drivers do not need a motorcycle endorsement in other states. The info below is from the Tennessee state codes, all other states have the same requirement, may use different wording. :)

Tennessee Code Title 55 Motor and other vehicles Chapter 50 Driver Licenses :

Quote

55-50-304. Persons exempt from licensing. — The following persons are exempt from licensing under this chapter:

(4) A nonresident who is at least twenty-one (21) years of age and who has in immediate possession a valid license equivalent to a Tennessee class license issued to such person in such person's home state or country may operate a motor vehicle of a comparable class in this state.

Using the above stated code, if I have a CA drivers license, the Spyder is licensed as a motorcycle, and I'm riding in the state of Tennessee, I do not need to have the M1 endorsement since CA does not require it.

The CA class C license is equivalent to the Tennessee class D license.. No where in the Tennessee codes does it state or infer that a nonresident driver will need the Class M Tennessee endorsement.

I can understand conflicting info when talking to different states, I have had conflicting answers here at my local DMV, and even talking with city police, CA Sheriff, and the CHP, some of the officers had no clue that a 3 wheeled motorcycle did not require an M1 endorsement.
