Installed the Spyder seat skin yesterday.
CUSTOM SEAT SKIN
Part # 219400085 * Black/Yellow
Part # 219400086 * Black/Grey
Price (US) $ 199.99 $ 249.99 (CA)
To be assured of a snug fit I took the seat and the skin to an upholstery shop. They used the steam table and installed the
skin, cost was $38. I think it was well worth the cost as it does fit very snug and does not appear to be an "add on".

That looks great! One of the best add-ons I've seen so far on a Spyder

That all you got to say Dennis? I thought the seat was difficult to get off and that the original seat could be damaged by the skin? Does it feel beeter to seat on as well. Waht about the seat cowl now?
It does look awasome. One of my favorite, if not the best add on for me.

As for the seat removal, this is what works for me.
- Remove the torx screw that secures the rear tip piece.
- Remove the rear tip piece
- Remove the metal clip on the gaz shock at the seat connection point.
- Disconnect the seat sensor wiring harness at the frame connection.
The seat will now tilt back to allow easy access to the 3 bolts that secure it in place.
As for the seat skin doing damage to the original seat material, I don't see why it should, but time will tell if I'm incorrect I guess.
As for the seat feeling any different as for the ride, did not notice any yet, only a 30 mile trip back home with it.
As for the cowl, I'll be putting it back on in a few days, but I don't expect it be effected by the skin, I'll update this post when I have the cowl back on.

I installed my own seat skin, not fun.
For $38.00, it was well worth allowing someone else to do it.

It's probably too big. Needs to be under 70K for upload here. Try resizing. If you need help, send me a PM

I sure do like the look with that seat skin and the cowel. Heck, it will be a while before I get to do any modifications to my Spyder (when I get it) though. All those bells and whistles start to add up and for now we are gonna keep em stock. I am sure over the course of the year I will get to do some cosmetic upgrades though. The only things we are adding up front is the taller windshield and the 12 v power outlet.

I have 14 out of 18 BRP's Access. and the one that I would recommend is the 1" riser.
It dose relax the seating position, I have put 600 miles on since I had it installed and the bike is alot more confortable now.

Thanks, I know both my husband and I ordered those, we were thinking the price isn't bad what the heck, but we forgot about the cost of labor to have them installed. I don't think it is something we want to try to do ourselves. I may have a friend or two that I trust to do it but I would want to be absolutely sure. I will definitely take your advice into consideration though, I do believe the riser will be a big help.

Ken, would you mind if I ask how tall you are and what your inseam is? I'm curious how the riser works for different size riders. I'm 6' with at 33-34 inch inseam...and trying to figure out whether for certain to have it installed.
Love to hear from others with the riser, too.

The link below is for my post and pics of installing the riser block, it may be of help for any thinking of doing the install themselves.

My feeling is that if you are over 5'11" it really does not matter that much and actually I feel more relaxed without it being 6'2".

You must have a stock bike - so have you sat on a bike with the riser installed?
Put them side by side and go from one to the other - you will see and feel the difference.
I for one was tried of doing push ups off my handle bars while riding.

Put the seat cowl back on today, took a few pictures, and yes the seat cowl does install over the seat skin with no issues.
The Seat skin and cowl look GREAT! Thanks for the pic of the underside of your cowl as well.

Hope the pics help any thinking off picking up the cowl. Well the cowl is a bit of a pain to install, after installing it a few times, it really is not a big issue to do so.

I really like the cowl as well.....I am going to try to get one pretty soon (after the spydie first) so it will give me a bit of a custom look too. I love the pics by the way....
