Good post Frank .............. as coincidences would have it, I am getting ready to install same and would appreciate any insights, shortcuts, etc anyone might have.
Instructions look pretty much straight forward but I can always use help.

The Power Bus provides six power outlets for accessories like GPS and XM radio and is installed just forward of the instrument panel which makes the wiring nearly invisible. You can find more information at the following web site.

Yes I think that was me. I live not too far from where you spotted me. Thanks for the honk. I was busy getting slowed down for the turn or I would of honked back.

Can't remember the price - Click on the Evoluzione banner at top of page and go to the Can -Am banner and it will have the Spyder there, Click on it and check out the electrical section. Sorry this post was supposed to go to Putt-Putt. In reply to cost etc.

PLUS:
* High quality
* Good engineering
* Quality connectors, wire, covers
* Everything you need is included!!
* Clear and easy to follow instructions
* Works well
* Evoluzione (Ken) is a pleasure to work with
MINUS:
* Max capacity of 30 amps could be a problem
* Wish it had ground posts .. was a challenge to
find grounds for all accessories
* A little expensive but still well worth it
CAVEATS:
* If you have already installed the power outlet in the trunk, you may have a problem! The factory connector you have to hook the Power Bus into is used to install the BRP power outlet and mine was
mashed between some metal frames. I had to remove the trunk to disconnect from the power outlet
in the trunk and relocate it so I could connect it to the Power Bus System. The good news is that it is relatively simple to remove the trunk; 6 bolts and disconnect some connectors plus fog lights if you have them installed. Trunk comes off with ease and reinstalls very easily.
Let me know if I can help.

Thanks for the info. When my Spyder arrives I will try to put a ground terminal in there. I have the power buss, alarm and Fog light H.i.d. kit sitting here waiting.

if you need a higher load rating, you can upgrade it (we thought 30 amps would be enough). we can make a 50 amp version if desired but what are you running that needs more than 30 amps?

Regards,

i just checked and the voltage regulator has a 50 amp fuse so that would be the maximum for the entire bike.

Glad to hear you had such a good experience.
I had a couple of problems and I'm not done yet. There was an item missing from Ken's instructions that should have called for the removal of a receptacle in the rear fuse box before inserting the 30 amp fuse. I also am going to have to remove the trunk. The boot was zip tied in such a fashion that I couldn't get it out on the correct side of the frame which resulted in not having enough length for the shorter cable in the kit. I am going to have to redo my installation.
You are right about Ken being very helpful. I already called him for help and he has been more that gracious in giving consideration to my problems.

15 amps each for Gerbing's Heated gear and the Powerlet Outlet. Five amps for the Hot Grips and 3 amps for the BRP Power Outlet and I'm at a total of ........... 38 amps with two slots left.
I don't anticipate a problem, however. Since I don't wear heated pants and never turn my heated jacket liner and/or glove liners all the way up I think I will be OK. Also, I will have to add a lot of accessories on the Powerlet to max out the 15 amps. I amp going to have power to my HELD tankbag from the Powerlet. I will be running my J&M Integratr (MP3 player, helmet speakers and possibly a CB radio) in the tankbag plus possibly chargin my cell phone all at the same time.
I'll keep my eye on it and report back if it becomes a problem.
In the past, I've used the Centech AP-1 (http://www.cyclegadg...ct.asp?Item=CEN). It is a quality piece of equipment but I'm not sure I would want to tackle tying it into the spyder's system with the Canbus electrical system!! That's why I went with Ken's system and as I've stated already, I believe it will be more than sufficient. It would be nice however, to have more juice available.

I ran into the same thing and just assumed I had missed something somewhere. I hooked everything up and when I gave it a test, ... no power. Checked everything out and finally realized I should have removed the white plastic insert which I guess is what you are referring to above?

Yes you are correct about removing the white piece from the rear fuse box. I decided not to remove the trunk because Ken at Evoluzione agreed to send me a longer upper cable (at no charge) which should solve my problem. By the way I noticed what I thought was a ground post on the frame in the general area where the relay should be installed. I'll give a final report when the new longer cable is installed.
