I want to change the oil and filter on my Spyder. The oil is described in the owners manual but the filter is just not described. Does anyone know the size, part number and if it is available at a local parts store???

Any help appreciated.

it appears to be a new rotax filter (different from the aprilias). i haven't found any cross reference so at this point it is just the factory filter - we have them in stock if you need any.

I just received a pair of these filters from dealer in Buffalo yesterday. P/N 420956745. Don't forget to also get the o-ring #420650500, and the crush washer #420250640.

If you are zooming across the country you ought to carry an extra kit.

You will need two crush washers for the oil change.

I asked my parts guy that and he said it only listed one.

I didn't get my shop manual yet, but from what I understand you need 2 washers. One for the oil tank drain and one for the drain in the block.

Refer your parts person to the Spyder owners manual page #79. Or better yet, show him the Spyder.
