It does bring the bars back as well as up... because the steering column is on an angle.

Just my observation well installing the riser, raising the bars/moving them back any more than the 1" riser may result in needing to extend cables/lines. Could be more involved than it seems. ;)

The Riser block for the Spyder is part # 219400087 and retails for $ 39.99 and adds an additional 1" more than the stock block. As with
some of the other Spyder accessories, the need for removal of several body parts is required for this install. To be safe, allow 1 to 2 hours
for this install, and read the instructions fully, making sure you have the tools required.
I know Tharkun is very busy right now so I would like to add that the 6 bolts that you need to remove to take off the handle bar cover require different size sockets. The 4 top most use a 8mm socket and the two bottom bolts - the hardest to see need a 10mm socket. Here is a link to pics of the puller I used. Puller. (last 2 pics in the album). It worked real slick. I just used the old bolts from the stock bar riser and it pulled off very smoothly. Hope this helps. I found it to be very frustrating trying to undo the last two bolts with an 8mm socket only to find by trial & error that they were 10mm.

I installed the 1 inch riser and to no avail. I then installed the Helibar kit and that helped considerably but not completely. I will now either alter the handlebars so as to raise their ends up or install two of those aluminum extensions so that I can rotate the handle bars upwards and a littl more to the rear.[quote name='NEXUS' timestamp='1200089018' post='21097']

Does it really make that much difference with just an inch more height?
