Just curious about your issue with the Scorpio remote consuming batteries. I have now used the alarm system for almost a month and the battery is still at full charge. What type of time frame did you have before the battery needed replacing ?
Also have you installed the Guard Dawg yet, if so, how did it work with the DESS system ?
Thanks

I think the motion sensor will be a nice feature to have, when parked it will keep good intentioned lookers at a safe distance. If not and they are persistent, l receive a warning and can go out and investigate. Yes there is a range limit for the remote, but there again it will work for my needs 90% of the time.
Hello Tharkun #409, love you your posts. Are you going to put rubber rings/washers around the holes that you have made in the frame to prevent wires damages from vibration/friction?
Please keep up the good work with your pictures and updates.
Weather was cold and crips on Vancouver Island but still got in a small ride this morning.

Thanks for the kind words.
The two holes I drilled for only used for some heavy duty wire ties, these were used for securing the MCM. The adhesive pads were adequate for mounting the unit, I just tend to over engineer projects.
The two wires that I routed thru the frame to the main fuse block for the RID-5 module actually entered the frame tube in the same area that factory harnesses use, so no chance of being damaged.

I just had an i900 installed and they put the sensor under the center panel between the seat and the handlebars.
works fine except when the engine is warm it goes off non-stop.
i'm guessing the only solution with this is going to be relocating the sensor?

I have the sensor towards the rear of the seat area, has been there for over 10k miles and have never had any heat issues or false alarms.

By the way, what wire did you tap into to make the connection for the RID-5?

Sold Spydie a few months ago so can't check, but think RID-5 was tied into the fuel pump line at the fuse box.

If I remember correctly, Ken does not stock the Talon alarm systems. Also you may want to wait and see what new modles Talon may have available
