Man, Awsome Post!
I was searching for help on installing foglights, and ran across it. I just brought my roadster home today- and was impatient, so I opted to install the few addon things that I bought myself, as the techs didn't have time.
I am fairly techy, so for the most part the instructions make pretty good sense, but since I don't know my way around the bike, I'm having a problem finding the bolts described in the instructions. Specifically, the cage nuts holding the console in place (rear bolts?)
Any chance you could post a pic or explain exactly where they are so I can get that console off and finish the install?
Thanks again, your post helped alot.

Thank you for the tip. After looking back over the instructions, I noticed a step that tells you to remove the center plastic cover from the bike. Once I did that, I could clearly see the mounting bolts for the center console....guess it pays to READ the directions!

Picked up Spyder Friday. Had dealer install xenon and fog lights prior to installing nose. Headlights are always on if Spyder running.
300 miles later: Edited - Change of opinion since origional post:
I like having both! Nothing like a complete reversal! Xenon lights bright and throw light very great distance. That blueish hue. Fog lights give more "regular spectrum" light filling in area around Spyder.
Xenon were very expensive but are very bright.
Fog lights - may have been expensive but perform unique roll on Spyder. Four hundred dollars for near lighting but now glad I have them!
Interested in others impressions or opinions.
Fog light switch is lit and is not defective as first thought.
Cost of Accessories:
Xenon Lights $1,299
Fog Lights $399.95
Combination Harness $99
12 V Power Outlet 23.50
Riser Block $39.99
Labor Charge - $185
Glad had all put in while 3507 uncrated and finish build.

Is that correct? The cost of the Xenon lights are $1,299 - at that price how long will they last? Am rather new to the Can Am Spyder arena - I have heard nothing but great things about this new piece of transportation. I just sold my VStar 1100 and thought I had probably ridden my last motorcycle as I am having some problems with my hip and legs, but since I have spent some time investigating the Spyder I am really excited about getting back in the saddle again. Have you seen a red one - how do they look? I am going to get the 5 speed option so I don't have to clutch and shift. This looks like a great new option of motorcycling and I can't wait to get one.

Not sure since I'm waiting for a replacement for the defective one, ;) but is suppose to to be lit when the fog lights are on.
I installed the fog lights today and they do not work. Did the replacement switch work for you, TharkunRT?

Is there a fuse installed in the front fuse panel? Mine didn't have a fuse there from the factory.

i have the same problem . i have installed the fog lights with 3000k hid kit, but my fog lights don't work and the switch is always lit up . I disconnected the the bulb and ran it though a multimeter and the funny thing was when the switch button was press the powers in the wires went dead and when the switch button was unpressed I had power in the wires. So I reconnected everything and retried, but no luck. Anyone have any suggestions?

So today I found out that Depending on the year of your Spyder RS, 2010 and 2011 have to be turned on via the ecu, any brp spyder dealer can do this in about a minute. Under the setting page in B.U.D.S. the fog light option needs to be turned on.
Is there a way to do this without having to go to the dealer??
