After signing all the papers and binding insurance I suprised my 16 year old son with the first ride. I asked the sales manager to take one of the demo bikes and let my son follow on mine for a demo ride. They went 15 miles? Anyway the 150 mile trip back to Bakersfield was great. I felt the rings seat in at about the 50 mile mark and things really smoothed out. It seemed to be harder to push into a righ turn than into the left. Found this morning that the left tire was 2 lbs lower than the right and I think that would make a difference.
I am also getting some belt noise at 22 miles per hour. Heard it stopping. The belt is extreamly tight right now. Dealer said to leave it till the 650 service and they would make sure it was correct. Said that Can Am was setting up units on the tight side of the belt to compensate for any strethch in the first few hundered miles.
Other than that it was a comfortable ride. I did not get any acessories that I ordered either, but should be installed at the first service that I have scheduled for Friday after Thanksgiving.

The belt when properly adjusted does seem rather tight, but as for the belt making a "noise" that does seem strange to me. Having been involved with the PDI on my Spyder, and having read the entire PDI sheets, there was instructions to adjusting the belt and it also listed the specs. There was no mention of adjusting the belt to allow for any" break in " stretching.
From my understanding your dealer should have purchased an electronic measuring device from BRP that is used to measure the belt tension. So I would suggest when you return for the 600 mile service, make a request to see how they are actually making the adjustment to the belt.

The noise sounds like a growl that happens at 22mph and 17mph for a split short time. It seem sto be the belt because I can pull the clutch in and it does not seem to make a difference so I assume it is the belt. I can feel a slight vibration in the pegs when it does it.

I did not get a copy of the PDI, but I am sure I can get one. Belt lines up as per the manual. I just think it is too tight. But I will get some more miles on it then worry. 167 mi at this point.

That belt has zero stretch, zero. It also says in the manual to get to the dealer if you feel any vibration from the belt. KEEP AN EYE on it and stay close to transport options. Have you had it up to highway speeds or over?

Yes sir, I put the 1st 150 miles on it from the dealer to the house. Absolutely no noise from the belt other than the 22 mph. Higher speeds it is quiet like a mouse.
I am going to put the 600 and take it back on teh 23rd. I will keep you all posted on the outcome.
Thanks
