Welcome to yellow. I still can not believe how much better it looks, the real thing compared to the demos. Congrats, make sure you make extra time at the gas stations for all the questions, sure beats talking about the weather

Darren , Darren

I will ask the question today as I sign final papers at 10 am, my guess is that BRP will designate a bike but can't register the bike for the dealer in ca.

So the dealer can accept BRP wishes keep the demo as directed or make his customers happy.

I will confirm this today with the dealer and I guess that none of the 3 bikes has ever been registered with DMV of Ca.

B1tten

while i haven't seen the bike out of the crate yet the light from the owners motorcycle for the pics last night made us look at the yellow paint closer.

It appears not to be just a gloss paint but as my wife said has a glitter of small metal flake to it - which will just dance in the direct sunlight.

b1tten did you notice the ship date on the Tag?
So how many days does shipping really take?

It arrived last night 11-10-07

seems long to me.

Yes 30 days you could have shipped it on a boat. They really need to work on the logistics of the carriers. Congrats again, and make sure dealer cheks belts really good and several times to make sure the hold specs

Congrats on getting your Spyder !!

The tag on the shipping crate is up for several different opinions as to exactly what the info determines.
The date/time stamp could very well be when the unit was crated at BRP, and not a shipping date at all.
When I was at the dealers for the unloading the truck driver manifest had a pick up date, and was not using the dates of any unit on the trailer. :)

Also the dealer demo are registered to dealer, but this registration has nothing to do with DMV in any of the states. Having been involved with trying to get a demo unit designated
as a different one than shipped, not sure how some dealers are getting around this issue with BRP. But if a dealer is able to do it, I'm happy for the customer. :)

what type of registered to dealer are you refering to? Please explain

The only registration that counts is DMV and they are not.

A Spyder demo is pre-assigned/registered to a dealer using that units Vin #. Sorry if I appeared to imply that a demo unit was registered with any DMV office.
I'm just curious how some dealers seem to be changing a demo Vin # to another unit other than the one specified by BRP. :)

That I can not answer!

A bike will get a vin# for life so there is no such thing as a dealer vin # only a designation of vin # to be used for the demo bike.

Please correct me if I am wrong!!!!!!!!

This is really unfortunate for use first owners and again seems to be confusion between dealers and BRP. My dealer never heard of any of this, but he made sure colors were correct when he ordered. It is perhaps that some dealers, thinking no big deal on color as "we are getting 10" did not specify so BRP did it for them. Could be also dealer promised thinks they could not deliver or put others ahead. Remember BRP left that to the dealers. "According to dealer allocation" never heard that before….

Ken darn glad you are getting one FINALLY and the color you wanted. So happy for, you will not believe the calm about to be in your life. Go burn up some gas. :riding:

PS Good luck getting the grin off your face

part of the problem may be that that once the deposit was submitted to BRP for a bike with a color choice, BRP takes it in the order it came in nationaly.

Now let's say someone backs out, dealer replaces with next person in line and never informs BRP. BRP sends what they think is the correct bike, dealer has bike issues if they moved up wrong person that fails to match the correct color.

This cann't be it gives to much credit to BRP!!!!!!!!

Thanks B1tten I have been a lot more happy since I have control of my bike.

I will be picking it up Tues. - Thurs pending possible speakers and the hard wiring in of my GPS, my XM radio and power point for my heated wear. If I am lucky my access. that I ordered just might come in, any way I will be riding this week sometime.
