Has anyone addressed the amount of wind over windshield? I have the touring windshield and in comparison to my other Bikes I am getting blasted from to chest up. I ordered a small universal 10in. Laminar lip today to see if it will help. I am wondering if anyone has done anything to address this yet? If so what are you trying? Thanks

My guess is you will be leading this discussion as one of the first handful to take delivery. I did notice a lot of wind on my day long ride, but that was with the short windshield. I hoped the touring windshield would address most of the problem...sounds like maybe not

For sure, I was going to order the touring shield. 14" tall. If that does not help, no sense wasting the time. Keep us posted on the fix and thanks.

I traveled on Interstate 95 this morning doing about 75 mph and up to 85 mph. I have the short stock windshield and the wind is a lot from the chest up. Leaning forward I could feel the wind start to go over my helmet and was thinking that the touring windshield should help. My dealer did not have all my options in yet, but I have one coming. I will update more once I get it. Also leaning forward is not a position I would like to stay in long. In an emergency it would be hard to give it the steering input needed. Remember the SPYDER is not like the motorcycle some of us are used to. The SPYDER was very stable at the 85 mph.

I drove with the touring windshield and had no problems, but I did have to wear a scarf otherwise I would have eaten bugs. A higher and wider windshield would be great, considering that this is a touring unit, many people will be putting on long hours.....i hope they are looking into it .

I have riden in high winds (anyone that rides into Palm Springs, CA knows what I'm talking about) at speeds up to 95mph an have no issue with the touring windshield. It works great for me. I guess it will come down to the rider height. I'm 5' 7" so it might not be good for taller riders.

I have the touring windshield on my Spyder and it's just too short.
I am now having one custom-made 6 inches taller 2 inches wider.
When I install it I'll post some pics on what it looks like and cost.

I had an old stock windshield off a Yamaha FJR. I cut the bottom of it to match the Spyder stock windshiedl. I have the touring windshield on the bike. The FJR shield worked out to be only 2 inches higher than the touring windshield. So I took the FJR shield and attached it to the Spyder touring shield. The way I attached it gave me an extra 8 inches. Rode the Spyder 300 miles today and found that the extra 8 inches really helped. If you have an old windshield laying around you might try this. Got it up to 100 MPH with no viberation or other problems.

I took a couple of photos of my windshield over the touring windshield. I don't think it looks too bad and it gives me 8.5 inches more protection. I know it will work because I have had the Spyder up to 90 MPH since installing.
Lots of people have seen the setup and so far have not died laughing.
