I've purchased and installed a Kisan 100HD-M brake light modulator on my new (to me) 2008 GS. When both brake lights are connected to the modulator I get a "VSS FAULT / LIMP MODE" notification. Removing one wire and reinstalling it without the modulator, leaving the modulator on the other light, works fine - the attached light pulses as it should, the unconnected light is solid. The Spyder acts as if the modulator is not performing the lamp check as it should. Has anyone else successfully installed this particular modulator?

I don't know anything about the Kisan stuff but I do know you have to be very careful with electrical mods on the spyder. I highly recommend ESI Cycle Products. http://www.esicyclep...ntlighting.html
I have quite a few of their products and they all work. They are designed for the Spyder and come with good instructions plus they are available for telephone support as well.
BTW, welcome. Lets get together for a ride as soon as the weather warms a bit. Several of us will be doing the Moonshine Lunch Run in April. http://moonshine-run.com/Moonshine/ You are welcome to join us for the Saturday ride.
The next thing is Spyderfest later in April. http://www.spyderfest.com/Home.html There will probably be 600 spyders there from all over the country.
Send me a PM if you need any information or help.

Contact the folks at Kisan...they sold you the wrong part. You should get the TAILBLAZER bulbs with the integrated modulators. They have been tested on BMW bikes (which are also finicky) with no problems, and I had them on my GS/RS and they worked with no VSS FAULT / LIMP MODE.
PM me if you need more info...

After contacting Kisan, they sent a replacement unit that works fine. They had to "increase transconductance" on the replacement. So if you purchase a unit from them for you Spyder GS/RS, be sure to correspond with a human, don't take the web site recommendation at face value.
