I Have searched the internet completely and can not find any answer's on how to get rid of the lower RPM Sputters and Coughs!
I have installed a KewlMetal Air Cleaner, a HMF Exhaust and a Dobeck EFI tuner. I have tried a dozen different settings on the EFI tuner with no luck. The bike runs strong through the RPM range, but taking off from a light or just riding at 30 or 40 MPH she will cough and sputter. Not real bad, but enough to drive me nuts.
I disconnected the purge canister line that goes to the throttle body, No Change. I have not yet tried disconnecting the battery as I've read somewhere to try.
Does anyone have the answers to this problem? It seems fairly common. I bought my bike from a private party and I have 975 miles on it. I'm really very happy with it besides the sputter problem. I did the 600 mile oil change myself, so I have not been to the dealer with it.
Any advise, suggestions or help with this would be greatly appreciated!!!!
Thanks!
Jim R.

Start with the battery disconnect as the computer probably needs to reset. You could also check the plugs as they may be fouled up.

If it didn't do it before you started messing with things. I'd go back to stock setting, and try to see where you screwed things up.
