Considering getting a RT with Trailer. Any of you have a spyder trailer and any tips/tricks/concerns when towing?

We'd were going to get the RT to visit family. The trailer would provide her enough room for hair dryers, etc.

The RT 622 trailer is simply the best motorcycle trailer that I have ever towed. Pull it with the RT and you will not even feel it back there while on the road. The only tip I have is to distribute your cargo evenly and limit the tongue weight to no more than 15 lbs. A common mistake people make is to put too much weight in the back of the trailer which can lead to the tail wagging the dog syndrome. I tend to err towards loading it more on the forward end rather than the back end, keeping in mind the tongue weight restrictions. The only tricky part is backing up with this trailer. Try towing empty to get a feel for it and you will find out quickly that you will become an expert in no time. I have over 10,000 miles towing my trailer with nary a problem. Good luck.

The RT-222 trailer tongue weight should never be less than 15 pounds! It should not exceed 40 pounds. 10%-15% of the loaded trailer weight is the standard guideline for trailer tongue weight.

I agree that the RT-22 trailer is the best out there...bar none! The adjustable, independent, coil-over suspension soaks up the bumps like a sponge. The trailer tracks true and follows effortlessly. The aerodynamics allow you to tow with very little penalty in gas mileage, and the capacity is enormous. Consider purchasing the BRP Cargo Management System, too. Very handy to separate your load. I also like the optional tongue stand. We put 11,000 miles on the Spyder RTS this year, and over half of that was pulling the trailer. I have three trailers for my Spyder, but I like the RT-622 best.

Remember to use the tow mode on the RT( might only be on the electric shift model). There are 2 ways to engage it. My wife generally kicks it in while the RT has started moving more than 5 miles per hour.

Trailer mode only exists on the SE. It changes the shift points, for a bit higher rpm. There is no reason to change to trailer mode after you start to move. It can be done after you start the Spyder. It does have to be reset every time the ignition is turned off, however.
