Hi,
New to the forums and just purchased a used 2009 Spyder GS SM5. It's been great to ride so far and I have very few complaints other than my own stupidity.
Today I ran my front right tire into a curb in a parking lot at about 20-25 mph. It scraped part of the rim and the tire which is really painful to me but now I notice that when traveling at higher speeds 45 mph+ that the right tire seems to wobble sightly compared to the front left tire. Needless to say I am going to take it into be serviced and possibly replace the rim.
Should I be concerned about causing more damage by driving to a local dealership for service work? It will require some highway travel about 20 miles or so. I noticed some additional vibration in the handlebars but it still drives straight without having to over correct it.
The wobble is only noticeable at high speeds and doesn't seem to be impacting my ride too much but wanted to check with the experts first.
Thanks in advance for your replies,
Bill

IMHO,and I'm no expert, you probably will be fine as long as you take it slow.

Update: I rode the CAN-AM Spyder to the dealership with my wife behind me in our SUV, about a 20 mile ride in the rain. I did 60 mph the whole way. 2 miles from the exit for the dealership, my Can AM went into Limp Home Mode and disabled the VSS. I promptly pulled over and called the dealership and they explained what that was and that it would only allow me to go 50 mph or less. After a few minutes I started the Spyder and it had reset itself. I made it the last two miles to the dealership.
The good news is I only bent the rim and have already ordered two "slightly" used ones from eBay for a great price. They are going to install the front right rim for $93 which included the wheel diagnostic.
I'm looking forward to the rims shipping soon and then getting my Spyder fixed and back on the road.
