Hi my first post. my premier edition just had its first major service last month. I also added a Hindle pipe at that time. may or may not be related to this issue, but it has never happened before. I was riding for about 15 minutes and then waiting at a light, the rpms start to drop off and then the engine stalled. It started right back up but continued to kind of cough for a few minutes. that stopped then as I made a left turn, it raced up and surged 2000rpms without me touching the throttle! scary! it surged 2 more times. Then it started coughing again. Of course its back at the dealer and they cant duplicate the problem.
I love my sypdee and have never ever had an issue like this till now. any ideas?

It could be related to the Hindle pipe. The computer has to learn the new pipe and adjust accordingly. It may be just a matter of disconnecting the battery for at least 20 minutes, reconnecting and ryding.

Ok mine did the same thing and we found out that one of the spark plug wires was too close to the engine and was breaking down. when you getting the surg it is running on both cylinders when it is coughing it is only running on one. maybe this will help. I had a lot of trouble getting the mechanic to realize this was happening until we just let it run a long time at the shop and it finally started surging. then he new what to look for.
