Was fueling up at a local station recently, when a fellow Spyder owner pulled up to the pump next to me on an RS. We had a nice conversation and he asked a lot of questions about the RT. He commented that he really wanted to replace the stock windshield but was having a hard time finding what he wanted. I mentioned F1 as they offer a number of different types of windshields. We exchanged e-mail addresses as I promised to send him a link to the F1 web-site. To my suprise when I tried the link I had saved under my favorites, nothing came up. After some searching, I still can't seem to find the web-site I was thinking of. He had alot of pictures of the different wind-sheilds and other accessories he offered. Is he still in business? Has anyone oredered from him recently?

I'm pretty sure he is out of business........maybe due to health problems, but I'm not really sure. I also have heard he went back to Germany, but again not sure about any of this.

Spyderjockey is correct. F1 is no more. I have an F1 windshield that I like. It's a big thing but it really blocks the wind for me. I'm a big guy(6'6") so I had Marcel(F1) make an extra large one for me. I will say the quality is not the best but it works. My next windshield will be a Madstad. Very adjustable. You might want to look at one of those. http://www.madstad.c...category.493/.f

Cee Baileys aircraft and motorcrcle windshields is the best bet. Well designed aircraft acrylic. Great air pocket for the driver.

The Ghost of Marcel is back. But not on Spyders, he´s unfortunately very much alive and still in business. This time, another clientele.
This is what I have found.

Looks like he may have moved to LasVegas.

Marcel indeed is out of the fiberglass and windshield business by all appearance. There were many complaints about his quality control and customer service. If had followed through on those complaints he could have been a valuable asset to our community. I presently have the RT, but when I had the RS my last windshield was the Madstadd which did the job but was a PITA to adjust.

In Mr. July's windshield business, he was often charged with posting comments under alias' when complaints were made about his products. From the comments made to the TV story, it looks like history repeats itself.

I'm glad he's no longer around to BS and rip-off people. You lost $4,000? I was lucky to get my money back from VISA, after waiting forever for a fairing and getting nothing more than excuses and more excuses from Marcel. At the time I couldn't drive to Naples just to go kick kick his @$$ because I was recovering from open heart surgery, he almost gave me another heart attack with all the BS... :wall:
