Hi everyone!
I have a really silly question regarding the RT-A model. What exactly is contained in the audio and convenience package? I've noticed the PTT button on the handlebar, and was wondering if that had to with either an intercom system or a CB radio. If so, do either of those come standardly installed on the RT-A? Thanks for your help, and advice...

The A&C radio package is basically a 3 band radio(AM,FM&Weather), an Aux input (for MP3). The PTT button is there, but unless you purchase the CB package it's useless.

Hello,
I too am a newbie to the Spyder world. Finally taking a test ride/drive Saturday and have my eye on a RT-S SM5. I want to use my iPod and also be able to talk to my passenger. One local shop advised me that the only way to do so was to purchase the CB for $900, another $500+ for headset/helmet. Is there a Chatterbox set up that will allow me to hear my tunes and also be able to hear my passenger yelling at me to slow down?

Thanks!

There are a variety of wired and wireless aftermarket solutions. If you want to control the iPod from the handlebars and have it play through the Spyder speakers, too, it will take an additional device and some ingenuity connecting the interface to the Spyder. Among wireless systems, Sena and Scala have good reputations. In the wired systems, Starcom1 and Autocom are among the best. One thing is certain, if you don't need the CB, you can do what you want to do for considerably less than $900-$1,000.
