my RTS has the ipod connection. What i am wondering is how do you both tap power to keep the ipod charged and also link it to the onboard audio system. Does the ipod docking connection cable also provid power to keep the ipod in juice, or is there another way to provide both power and data linkage?

for all your ipod needs here is a killer adaptor so you can plug in to the ipod port connection in your rear cargo as well as charge your ipod, iphone or even your ipad while you stream out your music to the computer screen and audio on your spider. CHECK THIS OUT its a must have:

I also have the big red bug and have the same question. I am going to borrow one of my grandson's i-pod and see what happens. I'm led to believe you just hook the thing up and the avionics setup recognizes it and cranks up the screen for it. I'm not an avionics technician so I could be full of it with my over simplification. Got to go to the dealer for a couple "quick" updates on Friday, maybe I'll be able to understand what they tell me.

The connection plays your iPod (I use my iPhone) through the system and charges it at the same time. I have an RT Limited and assume it is consistent with your RTS. I have a playlist of 152 songs that I put on shuffle and ryde. My wife and I agree that this is the most fun way to recharge the battery on the iPhone.

Well, come to find out, all I needed is that connector that came with my Spyder for the Ipod stuff and I'm in business. Works great. Then I had to give the iPod back before the little snot told his mother I threatened to keep it. But there is a God and just yesterday, his mom found an iPod she thought she had lost and gave it to me. It's a little Nook or Nock or whatever and plays great. Now I just have to download lots of 50s and 60s stuff and I'll be a happy camper. Beinr a natural pessimist, I never thought it would work. Guess I'll have to start listening to these little kids. They have more toys and electronic stuff than Best Buy.
