Has any one installed a cigarette lighter or rather an accessory plug in your glove box ??
The glove box has a thick foam like, form fitting insert. Do I need that insert in there ???
Is it in there for a reason ?? heat maybe ??
lots of room if I get rid of it.
I want to install an accessory plug in the front wall of the glove box.
Thanks,
Tommy J.

The insert is not necessary. It is there to reduce the heat. The first RTS Spyders did not have them. Check carefully for clearance if you decide to install an outlet. It is pretty tight. If you want the outlet for a GPS or something outside the glove box, the front inner (flat) part of the speaker grills works as a location. I prefer the smaller Powerlet (BMW-type) outlets, but I have seen the cigarette-style mounted there.
