This is the second time that the parking break cable has poped out of the actuator cam. After inspecting it properly I noticed that when fully retracted it was not in line with the notch in the cam. So I adjusted it at the rear so that the cable lug alligned with the notch in the cam. Please see attached photo.

There is now a Warranty Campaign 2011-9 to address this problem.

Well, I called the dealer and they informed me that there is a recall for this but it is for the RT 2011 only. They said that the spring on the rear was the root of the problem. This evening I had a closer look at it and removed the cable at both ends, it was stiff so i took care of that with some WD40 and now it moves freely. I tried the parking break many times and it seems to be ok now.

I am not sure why the Warranty Campaign is labeled for 2011 only, since the 2010s all exhibited this problem. At any rate, BRP has been authorizing the repair for the 2010s, too. Have your dealer contact them for permission.
