I had posted some months ago about considering buying a Spyder RTS. I went ahead and bought a new Viper Red one today.

I decided to leave the Harley Ultra at home this weekend. Instead I'll be taking the Spyder this weekend on a 3-day trip up north of where I live. I figure I'll put about 600-700 miles on it in the 3-days. Just enough to have to take it back to the dealer for the initial "once-over". I believe that is supposed to be at around 600 miles. Hopefully everything will work on it while we are away!

I test rode one several times before finally buying this one. So far for what little I have ridden this one, everything seems fine so far.

I had a few "bikers" wave at me; and had a few others just look without waving. I had to laugh somewhat knowing that if I were on my Harley they likely would have waved and thought I was "okay". Oh well... I won't lose any sleep over not having a couple "bikers" wave. I have better things to think about... like riding my new Spyder this weekend.Posted Image

Congratulations on the Viper Red - the choice of Champions, by the way!!

I'm a newbie to the Spyder and all I know is check the tire pressures and the shock settings. Mine rides pretty well at 20 front,28 in back tires and front shocks on 5 and rear shock in the middle someplace.

Have a good trip.

I will check out the tires and shocks tonight while prepping for the trip tomorrow. I appreciate the heads-up. I had heard about doing that on several posts.

I suppose what I am about to say is old-news for those that have had their Spyders for a while now... but I have never had so many people wave, look, stare, smile, and generally be very inquisitive than what I have seen over the last two days. It really is kind of amazing.

Especially the kids at the bus-stops this morning. They were really excited about seeing this thing. Again... as I said... it is probably old-news for those that have had theirs for a while... but for me it is kind of strange -- but I suppose in a good way.

It certainly is better than them scowling at me like what would happen once in a while with my motorcycle!Posted Image
